I've been taking oxycontin oc with different mgs. and now I just recieved these new oxycontins that are 30 mgs. op and I cant get them to break down so that I can inject them I'm really going through some terrible withdraws. can some one please give me some advice so that I can? Thank you

Oh Dr. - I am VERY WELL informed about addiction. Believe me, I do. Again, if you didn't get it the first time, I am not here to discuss "fire and brimstone". We ALL have our demons don't we? We kick them down one at a time also. I want to know how others are dealing with the new "lock down" on opiates from our Doctors. Or how the new formulation has effected them, as like myself. I just came from a pain clinic, execpt he had nothing new nor enlightening to say. Apparently, the FDA, has come to the inconceivable notion, that it is all our fault. I am speaking of "not locking up our meds while our children are getting them". I believe that you have singled me out for my intelligence and the contention, is neither good for you or for me. So please, sir, back it off. There are bigger fish to fry.

hey it really works if u cut the pill down with sissors as fine as possible. then put the bits in a spoon. heat with a lighter until it turns dark brown. put at least 50 cc of water. heat it up some more then just draw it up. it will b dark brown. find a vein n go 4 it.

Let's please keep in mind WHY this forum exists. It is not for anybody to debate, or interject their religious philosophies. I recommend that you read the original posting and stick to that subject. If you do not have anything helpful to add, then I would probably not write anything more.

It is very apparent that you really need to seek some kind of psychological help (this is not a negative criticism), but your hatred and your irrationality is so apparent to all in this forum.

Again, I will not bother the rest of these members with your nonsense. Everyone here is to educate themselves, not to get into any kind of a religious debate, or how "educated" you are.

I would be happy to debate you, or discuss anything you'd like, but just not here. This is reserved for those people who have the courage to reach out and ask the difficult questions and find the appropriate answers.

As far as your last post, you absolutely do not "bother" me, as I consider the source and your level of knowledge on this subject. From the very little you have written, you know nothing about addiction, or how it is treated all over the world. Maybe you should open your mind and do some research before you post anything else.

Bravo doctor Abraham! Tell it like it is..This world is not a place where everything is beautiful..And right from the start in the US they throw out -All men are created equal! oh really?? Sell that to the fundamentalists!!! This world is a bitch, and people suffer tremendous hardships. Money and profit. guides everything including these chemical pushers that sell a pain pill that costs almost a thousand dollars a month and hook you while a herb that can be grown on your back porch is kept illegal... for those who suffered in war, accidents, been beat to near death for a rich man capitalist -The truth is when you need to take pills to relieve the damage done by making a living. Grandpa drank and this generation uses and all is because not all are created equal... Unions are dying and the fossil fuels supply will force you to work harder and harder for the the lifestyle that is fleecing the world, wall street thugs don't care about anything you will see.. Pray for our return to oxy and all that give their bodies to make a living....

You know this is not even funny, if you are abusing drugs its people like you all, is why people who need this can't get it. It was a good drug, until people started abusing it. Who ever out there is doing this, I got a word for you, you are either going to prison or the grave. Trust me I know for sure. You deserve with drawels.

The covering on the Oxycontin tablets is marked as SR on the script box which = 'slow release'. They are made this way so that it slowly releases through your system over about a 12 hour period.. Sometimes I just suck off the outer coating if I want it to start working a little quicker - also another reason for me is that because of 2 bouts of bowel cancer, I no longer have a bowel so I have less intestine in which the tablet can be used. If I didn't speed the dissolving time up a little, I would end up with a partly used Oxy in my bag.

I agree with comments further down. For those of us who need this medication for genuine pain control, we have to jump through more hoops at the pharmacist to keep track of our use. One of my friends commented to me that I should be very careful about just who is behind me when I am getting my scripts filled. I've taken her comments very seriously. I'm not judging others but I don't want to become a victim of being mugged for my meds.

Dr. Abraham - I'm going no where. I will stay here if not for anything else but to bug you. I have never, my friend, never abused my meds. Or would I. I am a very educated person also. I don't preach "fire and brimstone" here either. My "fairy tales" are read all over the world, to the choice they choose. Have a good evening, Dr?

Please dont assume all christians are ego-centric, cruch leaning people. Im a christian, and i live with the major struggle that it inter-vienious oxycontin, heroin, delouded ect. Its not fairy tales. its a book that gives me hope that im not a worthless junkie...like other christians tell me too. Dont hate my christ, ...its not his fault that the majority of his followers are ignorant, weak minded, generaly s***ty people. Im a christian, and a Drug user, and i love all of you,...even the low life who dogged the doc.

First of all, I do not have to disguise myself as anything, as I never give any Medical advice, or step beyond my boundaries. This is a good forum, to help those who need it. If you cannot see this, then you need to expand your world.

Secondly, the things you write (incorrectly) on this forum are simply ignorant and not helpful at all. You are obviously not an educated person, or a person who knows NOT how to help, or support those who are addicted, or dependent on certain medications.

You have so much anger in you and you just spew ridiculous statements. Religion DOES NOT belong in this forum, as you cannot assume that 100 percent of the participants believe as you do. That is very egocentric and frankly, ignorant.

As far as your comment about somebody reporting you as Spam, I have never done such a thing. Maybe you are taking too much of your medication, making you paranoid. I would suggest a very immediate check-in with your physician.

Hatred and statements that you make on this forum are not helpful at all. As you said in one of your last posts, you were going away and calming down. I think that is an excellent idea. Unless you have anything HELPFUL to add, instead of spreading hatred, you do not belong in any forum.

Now, go read your book of fairy tales and hopefully that will give you Christians strength, or whatever it does for you, just like a four-year-old child.

If people would like to share their religious stories, I would recommend they go to the proper, theological site, rather than this forum. Remember, Christianity is a MINORITY religion of the world! Your ignorance and intolerance only makes the situation worse. What do YOU think the Internet is used for? This website hopefully educates and prevents negative attitudes, such as yours. Addiction is a disease! If you don't know this by now, after all of your family issues, you had better educate yourself, rather than slinging name-calling and making yourself believe you are better than anybody else, living on this planet.

Obviously you have access to the Internet, so I would suggest you learn more about addiction and and how to help, rather than contribute to the problem!

By the way, what medications do YOU have to lock up? Do you consider yourself Dependent, or an Addict? If you have narcotics that NEED to be locked up, you must be on some sort of medication, that your body depends on.

So, when you get off of your soap-box, take a few hours and learn about these individuals who have nobody to turn to and get help. That is why we have the Internet and forums such as this one.

With all of the resources available to YOU, there is no excuse for IGNORANCE! Also, learn how to use the word "too", versus "to". Am I any better than you are, by knowing how to use grammar correctly? That answer would be NO!

UGHHHHHHHHHH - ABRAHM, - JayJay124, ABSOLUTELY has the right to "preach". Purdue did what they did, because of THEM, And now they want someone to tell them how to "SAFELY" use! You have got to be kidding. I have a drug addicted daughter and she has stolen, lied and taken my pills from me. (They are now under lock and key) You junkies are slick! So I know of what I speak! She has OD'd twice, jailed twice and rehab four times. We will bury her! I am her Mother, but the woman that I see, is NOT the child I gave birth too! Can she stop?, probably not. I have done everything to no avail. I have given up. So now lets' give her some information that may kill her sooner than we think. The out come is the same! So you f***ing junkies just go to an AA meeting and I'm sure you will find a dealer right outside waiting for you. They can tell you the right way of doing what you do. Please leave this web site to the people that NEED these pills to JUST make it through another day! I've said enough. And I will leave this site and try to calm down!!!

Look I have a sister that was hooked on drugs and went to a methadone clinic to get off the drugs and it was such a rip off and so expensive that she could not afford it it was either feed her kids or quit the clinic so she had to quit and they just took her off the methadone ASAP with no titrating down on the methadone just pulled her off of the stuff and shewas with drawing so badly that she turned to a lady that was selling her methadone and my sister got so messed up on the stuff that she had 2 strokes and a heart attack and is now blind brain damaged paralyzed on one side drags her foot from the stroke and can no longer work or drive a car anymore and is totally helpless so dont tell me about being a drug addict. You drug addicts that sell the stuff and find ways to break it down and take it for a bigger high are what helped to let this happen to my sister, along with the methadone clinics that charge an arm and a leg for the methadone. You are supposed to be helping people get off of drugs not ripping the off of their money !!!! There should be a law against methadone clinics.

It is not suppose to be fun to take Op and if that is what you are doing is having fun then you dont need them. Besides I take them and its not for fun believe me its because I am in severe pain every minute of every day of my life and its people like you that cause the drug companies to try to put new coatings on these pills all the time and I have noticed that what used to take me maybe 30 to 45 min to get pain relief from my Op's now takes me 2 to 3 hrs for it to work because of the drug companies putting these new coatings on them and they dont work as quickly anymore. If people like you would stop playing with these pills that you dont need then the people that are really in pain might get some true relief because their wouldnt be all the extra coatings on the pills and they would work properly. I wish I didnt have to take anything for pain but I do and people like you make it much harder for true pain patients to get their meds from the Doctors and its much harder to get them to work also because the coatings that are on the Op take much longer to break down in the stomache. Why dont you true drug addicts stop being stupid by alway trying to shoot up the Op's and stop hurting the people that are in true pain by your stupid actions !!!!!!!!

Addicted 123 articulated what I'm professing perfectly. Get a life of your own to judge and leave us alone, some of us did things to protect you when it led to our current situations. Do not be cynical, do not be judgmental; you are a christian, you especially to subscribe to these morals. But seriously, whats up with these things? I want my old ones back... they worked.

this was a thread for the purposes of remedying the problem created with the change from old OCs to the OPs. I dont care if you shoot it or snort, what is the best way to break them down and/or rid of the gel? f*** your christian fundamentalist sob stories, keep them to yourself... a lot of us in pain welcome death some days to avoid the frustration, agony and depression of being hindered in our wrecked lives. so, please... keep the blather to a minimum and complain to your pastor.
