In my opinion there are way too many variables within your question(s) for anyone to give an honest and helpful answer. Because we all react/respond differently, the only true way to find an accurate answer would be for you to go through trial & error and formulate your own opinion. Not only are we comparing doses here, but also the effects of binders/fillers (that some patients may have sensitivities to) altering absorption rates or bioavailability; Not to mention the Percocets contain varying percentages of their main active ingredient from manufacturer to manufacturer... (For example, on NIH.gov's website the Percocet [brand name] for their 5/325mg dosage form is listed as only being equivalent to 4.4815 mg of oxycodone).

While the factors above are certainly worth considering, I didn't even get into how our varying tolerances and perceived level of pain (which may change from day to day or moment to moment on a subconscious level) could influence the way we decide how one dose is similar to another.

My 90yr.old mother has severe back pain and has been on Tylenol #4, 1x3 a day. Her pain MD. has now switched her to Oxycodone 5mg. 1x 3x a day. She was told this would provide increased pain relief. Any opinion ? Thank you in advance.
