It is funny to see justs how much confusion there is pertaining to this question... How long does suboxone stay in our urine.
Here is the truth, and it is accurate. I speak from lots of experience, and study (attempts, failures and successes).
The most important factor, and there are many, is the half life. This has been addressed on this forum, but misinformed. The actual half life, based on an average persons metabolism, is 35 hours.
My personal metabolism is speedy, so I think I've pinpointed it down somewhere in the mid 20's. What this means is that every 25 hours after I stop taking it my levels drop by 50%. So if I take an 8 mg film today, tomorrow I would still have levels equalling 4 mg, and the following day the levels would be 2 mg, and then the next day down to 1 mg. etc etc.
So basically, it sticks with you for a while! Particullarly if your last dose was high.
And remember the average person is going to be 50% slower than that. So if it takes me 4 days to clean out an 8 mg film it would take someone else up to 6 days.

There are things you can do to speed up the process if you are in a crunch for time.
Eat healthily foods
Exercise
Limit fat intake
Drink lots of water
Steer away from taking vitamin supplements as some of them restrict your bodies natural ability to filter toxins.

It is worth noting that every situation and person are different. I know a guy who despite taking three films a day, 24 mg's, can pee clean after 3 days.

But the more time the better! There are also isolated stories about guys failing after 16 days.... But I'm skeptical that they really stopped taking the sub.

Anyway, I hope there was some useful info in there.

There is a dangerous amount of misinformation being given out as fact on this subject. People claiming its out of their system in three days because they were able to pass their piss test after such a short amount of time simply did not have buprenorphine (its the opioid in suboxone) on the panel of drugs they were being tested for. The amount of time it will take to clear out of your system enough to pass a test that is actually looking for it is highly variable but its MUCH longer than with almost any of the normal opiates and opiods they look for. It depends on personal metabolism and the doses taken but given that buprenorphine has an incredibly long half life, a person with a slower than average metabolism who took a big dose could end up failing a drug test looking for it several weeks later.

Yea, I agree, there is a ton of misinformation and disinformation all over the web - not just here. what sucks is this dynamic makes it impossible for those of us who do know what the hell we're talking about to convince information seekers that what we're saying is correct. Sometimes I think web forums should have a feedback score associated with each user that indicates how knowledgeable.

For what it's worth, the couple of people above who described how a chemical's half-life works were absolutely correct.

What I want to know is this: what is minimum amount of bupe that can be detected. i.e. Ill just assume that I metabolize at the high end of the half-life range, which is 72 hours. So if I waited 30 days after my 8mg dose of bupe before my drug test, will the test detect that amount? Every 3 days the dose gets dived in half, so after 30 days the math indicates that I would have 0.007 mg of bupe left in my system. Is that enough to be detected as a trace amount in my urine. I know I sound paranoid and I know that's not the amount that's necessarily in my urine, but can that be detected?

Every person giving info here has some true facts, as well as false ones in their own comments. Obviously you ask such a question so you can have enough time to get it out of your system before a urine test of some sort. Therefore, your best bet is to not use it if your not prescribed it! Even doctors aren't experts concerning Suboxone!
Suboxone is suppose to "throw you into instant withdrawal" blocking the opiate, but guess what...Some patients are prescribed BOTH Percocets and Suboxone, to be spread out over a certain amount of time of day/night.
People abuse all types of drugs, Suboxone being just another added abuse. Got a urine test? Do it and if it shows-oh well sorry to say, but your busted!

john u need to due more research because u r ths one that is wrong. suboxone does show up on most drug screens. trust me have been tested at drs fccs and probation and shows up all places. we r not the dumb ones u r

iyss, you r wrong alot of the," standard" test as u call them r testing fpr suboxone because ot is now considered a relatively abused drug so beforru go and say no " standard" drug test don't test for suboxone do your research

Missing my babies,

That's just not true. I'm not saying that on your tests didn't show up- just that they specifically tested for buprenorphine. A 10 panel test does NOT include buprenorphine. 10 panel is pretty extensive. To put that in perspective a DOT test is 5 panel. These are facts- not my opinion.

Suboxone is very dangerous. I took percocet for years and went to the doctor for suboxone to get off percocet. I tried stopping suboxone after five years on it cold turkey. It is impossible. You must be weened off. It is just as hard if not harder to stop suboxone than percocet. I felt like the flu for a week then gave up and back to doctors care to gradually stop. Again, very difficult and dangerous. Still not off that junk!!!!!!!

Suboxone is NOT an opiate. Its an opiate antagonist. Furthermore, if u are tested for just opiates u will PASS the test. U must test specifically for buprenorphine (suboxone). I have been on suboxone for 2 years now and have taken numerous tests never failing for opiates

There is a special suboxone test, it can be on a panel or a seperate dip stick, they are not expensive and probation tests for it. It is marked BUP on the panel screens...suboxone is not an opiate, however it has caused me to have 3 false positives for opiates, I knew it was clean so I requested my panel drug screens be sent to the lab. False positives are common so request lab work to be done

Oh and on average it is 7-14 days, give or take depending on duration of use and dose. From what my doctor told me 3 years ago, jobs are not allowed to test for suboxone because it does not affect your ability work. Im sure some jobs are exceptions though. But it deffinately stays in your system longer than 3 days. Withdrawl symptoms don't even start until 2 or 3 days after the last dose bc of the extremely long half life

No suboxone is not an opiate & does not show up as one. It has synthetic opiate n it. I go to a suboxone clinic. It shows up as bupenephrine & they have to do a special test for it. It does not show up on a regular 5 panel drugtest.

well i would just like to say that i took 1/3 of a 8mg strip on monday today is wednesday and i tested postive for it.. they are becoming more and more common to be on standard drug tests... everywhere i have taken a drug test has had it on there... people need to learn what they are talkin about
