So, nobody, street pharmacists or actual, are going to address the real questions being posed by the good folks being railroaded by the system here, seriously? .

First off -MEPROBAMATE IS A METABOLITE OF CARISOPRODOL/SOMA, AND YES, STANDARD TESTING USED NOW WILL FIND IT, AS EVERY JOB, DOCTOR, AND LAW AGENCY IN LIFE HAS ADDED SOMA AS A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE W HIGH POTENTIAL FOR ABUSE /DIVERSION!



.problem is ...unless you're a pharmacology expert, and some of those are quite sub par, especially when hired to DEFEND YOU, MOST. PEOPLE DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT ITEMS ON A STANDARD DRUG SCREEN PANEL ARE SIMPLY "METABOLITE MATTER "VS THE ACTUAL SUBSTANCE INGESTED /TAKEN ANYWAY! IF U THINK THIS IS COINCIDENCE, YOU'RE FOOLISH! the "system "is set up to perpetuate itself!


Now ...is ANYONE GOING TO ANSWER THE QUESTION THIS THREAD WAS SET UP TO POSE? "JUST HOW LONG (UNDERSTANDABLY DIFFERENT BETWEEN MEN AND VARIOUS CULTURAL BRACKETS, BUT AS A GENERAL GUIDELINE, HOW LONG, CAN ONE EXPECT TO BE A TARGET TO POLICE, IN THE MONTHS OR MAYBE ONLY
WEEKS OR DAYS FOLLOWING CONSUMING THIS MEDICINE UNDER THE DIRECT ORDER OF A DR.AND PHARMACY, WHO'D NEVER, AT ANY POINT ADVISED THEM THAT IT WAS A HUGE FELONY TO DRIVE A VEHICLE FOR WHATEVER PERIOD OF TIME THE METABOLITES MAY REMAIN IN YOUR SYSTEM FOR!

IS THIS HOW WE WANT "GRANDMA "TREATED, GOING TO HER BINGO GAMES? CAUSE THAT HIP INJURY WAS PAINFUL AND SHE LISTENED TO HER DOC? ...OR THE SINGLE MOM WHO GETS INJURED WORKING HER NURSING HOME JOB, WHILE RAISING THREE KIDS, N DAD RAN OFF W THE SECRETARY? WE JUDGE A SOCIETY ON HOW IT TREATS IT'S WORST OFF, NOT THE UPPER CRUST! TIME TO REALLY START THINKING ABOUT THAT!

It is not a narcotic. It is a great drug used properly helps with stiffness.

It is a narcotic in most states for anyone to say it's not is ridiculous. 5 days to get out of your blood unless your system is flushed at the hospital

I was in between two operatons, 1 down and 1 to go. In between them due to LOTS of stress, fever, yellow eyes and etc. A cop that was not called to scene, appeared. Thout I was drunk, passed breathalizer, convinced I was a junky and off to give blood I go. Received blood test results, 1st round all negative, 3 days later and states I have carisoprodol and meprobamate in system. Local pharmacy said Soma is a non controlled non narcotic. the memporbamte is a schedule IV controlled substance and I called pharmacy and the say it is NOT a biproduct of the drug!? I don't drink, I had 103 fever, diseased gull bladder, liver shutting down and eternal bleeding. Well....got a DUI! Must be the 1st person in the state of PA to get a DUI and don't drink or do illicet drugs. Through my studies and research, females hold it longer in thier system as well as Asains, African Americans and etc. Anyone know about in range, out of range or reference range?

I know this is old, but speaking as a pharmacist, myself....meprobamate is most definately a metabolite of soma. it is the active metabolite which is what makes it work so well. Typically not tested for in urine tests, but will def. show up on blood. sorry for your legal mishap, hopefully you got it worked out.

Lawyer Hasmymoney, I am sure you are not the first person in PA to have this happen, nor will you be the last.

Regardless of your medical condition and whether or not you are legally prescribed the medications, those laws cover driving under the influence of anything that may impair your ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Even though the Carisoprodol in Soma is not a narcotic or controlled substance, it can still cause dizziness and drowsiness, which may make someone a danger behind the wheel.

Meprobamate is a major metabolite of carisoprodol. It can give false positives for opiates. 5 Days to clear the system.

So would do u think it would show in a drug screen.. I have a an 8 pannel screen and a 10 panel..your help would be greatly appreciated being you are a pharmacist and would know best! Thank you.. {edited for privacy}

I was in the same situation I do have the same problem. I'm supposedly fighting it in court and they have subclinical levels in the blood test. they are saying that it doesn't matter because you cannot drive in new york state uhunder the influence of any prescription meds. I now have a tsuspended license due to the fact that the dmv is asking for a letter from my doctor who dropped me because of the incidentfrom my doctor who dropped me over this, to make it so bad I was driving my boyfriends son to school at 8 am I had not even taken my bed that day I have lupus and am prescribed meds legally and I have an assigned attorney and it's being treated as a leandra's law case I have no idea what to do my pain doctor even dropped me how is that fair when I hit my head on the steering wheel and could not even speak and spell out of my car when the police arrived obviously I blew a 0. and I was denied medical attention for my head injury by the police more than 4 *. the next day in the er I was diagnosed with a head injury, prior to my doctor finding out he also diagnosed me with that has anyone been through anything similar???? I feel like I'm in hell any info would be helpful

I think it might show up as it is metabolized in the liver. Since the start of this thread in 2010 SOMA was re scheduled as a IV controlled substance. Some states now classify it as a Schedule 3 medicine. It will be found in most tests as it is now highly abused!
