How long do you have to quit taking clonazepam to pass a drug test?

You are so right, I have been on Xanax and now klonipin for 15 years. When I ran out, I had no idea I would feel that bad. I just wanted to stop and I felt like my blood pressure went sky high and I was vomiting, my ahead was tingling and it felt like my throat was closing up. Sheer hell and torture is what I went through. I really hate it!!!!

I have been on 1mg 3 times a day. Then my doc switched me to Klonopin.. I was miserable. I couldn't sleep, it didn't help my anxiety. I had to go back to they Xanax.. The person talking about which one was strong or better to feel high on isn't using either meds for anxiety, I take Xanax and I have never been "high" on them... If you have anxiety issues the meds help you feel like you can breathe, you can relax and feel normal.. So stop abusing them., that it hurting the people that actually need the meds!

Wow I have NEVER EVER in my entire life heard such whining from such lightweight people. I checked into rehab with insane levels of benzos in my system including Klonopin but much more of xanax, a much more powerful benzo, heroin, methadone, and cocaine. These were all heavily ingested for at least 2 years and I quit it ALL cold turkey. The deal is, it sucks horribly. That is why you have to take time out of your normal life, no matter what it will do to your life, and check yourself into rehab. Yeah you'll walk around like a zombie for weeks but anybody can do it.

Im on ativan and see things. Was on prozac then zoloft & quit. Prozac gave me drinking urges. Im only on ativan and it isnt helping with anxiety. Cant breath sometimes and have to breath in a bag. No help there. Took about everything theyve made. Looking for a new doctor today. Ive had anxiety & PTSD from bad abusive childhood & most part of adult life. HORRIBLE! Not much left to take. About 3 pills I have yet to use. Brother is on a decent pill (all my siblings have issues & are on pills). So I am praying I can find a good doctor soon! Good luck to you!

Hmm that's weird because I've always heard that xanax is stronger than klonopin. However, xanax does have a MUCH shorter half life. Did your doctor give you a reason for why he's switching your meds all of a sudden?

I was prescribed to ativan for a year and I gel like it did absolutely nothing! They say that it's a "borderline benzodiazepine" which I'm guessing that means that it's one of the weakest benzos out there but don't quote me on that. I'm not a professional, just trying to help

Withdrawals are way worse than the anxiety.. I took xanax ten years.my Dr took me off cold turkey! It was the worse feeling ever! Shook all the time couldn't eat it was bad I was in my Dr office having major anxiety attacks, he gave me something idk what it was and a shot. Told me to make sure I don't drive and I'm by a bed when I took the meds. It knocked me out but I was as bad when I woke up.

I took 35 number ones and have to be revived but my sight is messed up cannot focus straight and is blurry I never had eye problems before will they go away if so how long

Xanax withdrawal is the absolute worst and should only be done in rehab. But klonapin can be substituted for xanax without a problem. Due to the long half life of klonapin you can then safely taper off by cutting down a quarter of a miligram every four or five days. Tapering off off xanax is nearly impossible.

when you finish your last dose . it will take about up to 48 hours to completely leave your system . However if you have been on this medication for a while . there is always a chance of Post acute withdrawal . Typically it is only for for habitual users . But it can effect almost anyone on the medication for a while . Also you have to understand that your physician put you on this medication for a reason.
Panic attacks are best treated by benzodiazepines , But Klonopin ( Clonazapam) is the least addictive of all of them . Good luck .

I am in process of getting off now. It just has made me so tired 24/7. Hard to maintain my life tired all the time. Is this normal with Klonipin? Now getting off I get bad chills and shakes. This is not fun. Now the question is what will my doctor put me on

I hope you are off by now, Ive been taking it for around 15 yrs. Ive tapered myself off to about an 1/8, of a 2mg. My body still feels withdrawals if I dont take it. I have been cut of my doctor bcz I hadnt seen him in over 6 months. One prescription of #90 lasted me that long. So today I called to make an appntmnt on learned they closed my file. I hope its dosnt take too long coming off. Good luck n God bless to everybody coming off any med.
