If you take it and lay down, 15-30 minutes. If you stay up and moving, you will be up all night. You have to lay down.
thank you your the first person who answered my question without use of other drugs I like a direct answer to my question and YOU delivered !
You should feel the affects of ambien a few min after you take it, and about around 20-30min it should be kicking in all the way. Make sure he's Layin down and tryin to go to sleep when he takes his medicine. I know the 10mg ambian I take isn't to help waking up in the middle of the night. It's to help me just go to sleep.
When you take Ambien does it take more doses to work to fully?my husband 4th stage lung cancer and wakes to urinate every hour so not much rest. He just has taken 10 mg for 2 days.
How long does diazepam 10 mg I take 22mg for anxiety attacks and sleep but not working and my doctor will not take any notice how I feel sleep for get it I just don't know what to do any ideas
In response to the information provided per previous poster, that information couldn't be farther from the truth!! Do you research, talk with people familiar with these medications, because the statement made in previous post " You can come off klonopin. It doesn't cause any bad side effects" is anything far from the truth. Depending on dosage and how frequently the medication has been takenx and for how long, I could write a novel detailing numerous adverse side effects, risks, complications, and even withdrawl so severe you could experience seizures and the works.
I'm having the same problem. I have been on hydrocodone for 30 years. Now doctors don't want me taking any. Can't get into pain doctor till end of next month. I sympathize with you. You're not alone.
Coming off klonopin cold turkey can kill you because it is a benzodiazepine. Withdraw from benzos causes seizures and other terrible things. Alcohol and benzo withdraws are the only 2 things that can kill you. Just thought you'd like to know.
You can come off klonopin. It doesn't cause any bad side effects, whereas anti depressants do when you're trying to come off of those. You should be fine. And if not, get to a pain management place in SC. They'll keep med like they are. They'll take care of you
My pain doctor just told me he wanted me off of Klonopin or he would reduce my pain medicine levels which will not be effective. He has given me the same dose of pain meds. for 2 yrs. knowing I was on Knonopin & just now wants me to snap snap go off Klonopin & I am afraid of it backfiring as I have been on it for 7 yrs. I am trying to get in to see my Neurologist but it is taking some time to get in & I don't know if he has any idea what else to try for my anxiety that will work. I can't take antidepressants. This creep pain doctor is blackmailing me & could care less if I go through withdrawal or have enough time to go off of Klonopin B4 I see him again or if my anxiety or even pain is controlled. He is a jerk for putting me through this after two years of not saying a word. How long does it take for Klonopin to be out of your system for a drug panel after the last dose? Is there a standard amount of time to allow for weaning off after 7 years & a standard procedure? I am not comfortable going off of it but I need this level of pain meds. The only other option is finding a new pain doctor who will write out the stronger pain meds. & let me stay on Klonopin. I need help finding a real good one within 40-60 miles of Charlotte,NC. That would be better since this doctor is a jerk. I am running out of time. I have no primary doctor either. I have to be clean from Klonopin by July if I stay w/ this doctor. Is that even possible? Please send pain doctor ideas from North Carolina.
Ambien starts to work within minutes of taking it, which is why the monograph instructs you to take it right when you are laying down to sleep and not any earlier.

As to how long it helps for, the regular release really isn't intended to help you stay asleep, it's meant for those that have trouble falling asleep. If you have trouble staying asleep, there is a controlled release formulation that you can ask your doctor about.
Side effects may include nausea, drowsiness, hallucinations and next day hangover like effects.
Is there anything else I can help with?
