How Long Before Testopel Pellets Start Working? (Page 5) (Top voted first)

Updated

Just had Testopel pellets inserted in my backside. Forgot to ask doctor how long until they take effect. He's out of town.

Week 4, and I think testosterone has reached a steady state. Things I have noticed are mood changes (for the better), skin is smother with fewer wrinkles, libido is back, weight is close to where I was, down 3 pounds but body seems to be changing to less fat more solid. I notice it more in my arms. Energy is like I was 20 again, and at night I sleep like a rock which is a big change. The only strange thing is I have had two or three night sweats. Will wake up and it looks like I have been running on a hot day. I also noticed my ming being sharper. Names, numbers seem to stay in place again. I wish I had done this sooner.

This will make two months from the first inserts implants. The time has flown by. I noticed many changes over the period which has to be related to the Testospel. One which had bothered me was the low energy level Pre-Testospel. That is gone. My days are wide open again just as when I was in my twenties. My mood and outlook on life has also improved. I seem to have recovered my ability not to bite people’s heads off when I find them annoying. I have lost weight even though it has been the pig out holiday season. I am down 14 pounds in two months. I think this is due to my increased activity level. My skin changed after the treatment. I had noticed the skin on my hands seemed dry, thin and wrinkled. I think thin skin is what I call getting scratched too easily. I now seem to have thick skin, fewer wrinkles and normal not dry skin. My libido corrected itself within the first week. It's a lot better than before the treatment. In general I think the process has been positive for me, I am eager to see how high 12 pellets took my T levels. I get blood work tomorrow.

Koifish:
I had more pain the 1st time I had the implantations done six (6) years ago and mentioned it to Doc. Since then -- each four (4) months, he implants them, but does much HIGHER and to the SIDE. It eliminates the pain that you are talking about because of the positioning of the implants. Good luck! And yes ............. for ME, it has been worth it because of increased energy, better moods, sleep improvement and recovered libido.

I'm now in week 5. My free T went from 255 to 1294. Much more energy and libido. I was given the max dosage. Sure beats gel.

Getting 20 pellets tomorrow morning. I'm getting 20 every 4 months and I'm starting to run pretty low at around 3 1/2 months. My legs start feeling like noodles or something.

Mine is covered by insurance. I also think it is the best thing I did for myself in ages.

Tomorrow 6/10/2016 I go for my 3rd round of Testopel. I still can't find one negative. I get ten pellets which are lasting me 3 months. I am very active which is why they think I burn through it so fast.

Went in today My T level was 418 after 3 months. I got 12 pellets inserted, and 10 hours later have no pain. I go back in 3 months, Looks like I drop 100 T points per month. That is a high rate, but Dr. thinks it is due to my high activity level. I now hike every day 3 to 5 miles, and run a few times a week. I have also added weights several times a week. This is a lot better than a year ago. I know it is the higher T levels giving me the energy and desire to get out again.

now been 20 days, had almost no pain, and the kick as my T climbed was a welcome feeling. My mext time will be Sept 10 for 12 pellets. I am thinking about getting hime to bump it up to 14 or 16.
I did find out some insurance Companies are very slow in paying the doctor. I talked with mine, but sure it did little good. hope their slow return doesn't cause a problem later on.

Hey Leo!

At the risk of men on this site getting tired of hearing from me, I wanted to address a couple remarks you made. I have found this site to be comforting, informative and encouraging. It helps to know that there are other men who have the same issues, problems and concerns as do I. I know that you were addressing George, but you have Bob, for a moment here! ***heh heh*** You mentioned that you are in your 40s and if I try 'real hard' to remember those days, some 30 years ago, I get a smile on my face. 'Though problems, certainly, things as you get older seem to 'magnify' a bit. The one question I have for you, is (perhaps due to my age, I am not familiar with the term "pinerty" that you mentioned in your post. Either you mis-typed or more likely, I just don't know the word. Can you clarify?

Generally, I am so much a happier man at 71 now, since finding and enjoying the benefits of TESTOPEL, and actually any HRT. I, personally, did not find the inj's. nor patches agreeable to me...... for many reasons. So glad Doc steered me onto the pellets. Were it possible, I'd be taking ten (10) of the pellets every three (3) months, as I used to, but because of other health issues, this is not possible. So, I am committed to enjoying what I CAN have with the four (4) pellets each four (4) months. As I write this, I am in the truest depth of emotions and effects of my obvious low T-level. I am due next Wednesday, November 16, for implantation and look to it with great great anticipation. I become extremely sad, depressed, lethargic and pretty much non-functional sexually.

I can tell from your post that you are a fairly positive guy, acknowledging all of the many blessings that you enjoy. That being said, there is nothing at all wrong with wanting MORE, if it is available to us. I'm greatly interested in the drug (can't remember now its name) that helps with the "transitioning" of bottoming out as implantation time nears. I'm going to ask Doc about that on Wednesday. It would be a great help for me to have something like this to "bridge the gap". Thanks for listening guys, and I apologize if I've 'overstepped' by posting so often.

Mine said 500 to 800. I get 12 pellets every 3 months. Wish it was 800 to 1000 lol. Grass always greener on the other side.

Marc, I am also one of the men who burn through pellets fast. I am on a 3 month cycle and will reach 600 in the early stages dropping to the 300 ranges at 3 months. I get 12 pellets. My doctor talked with me yesterday about switching back to shots to keeping my T levels higher. Now they will let me give myself the shots at home which solved the problem of once every two weeks to a doctors office. Looking at the control I think he may be right and at the end of this cycle I may switch back to the shots.
The clomiphene I take prevents Testicle shrinkage. They have been used for close to 50 years and have few if any side effects on me. It will take a while for you to see the boys coming back, but after a month they will kick back in gear. The advantage is it buffers the T levels at the end of a cycle.

I think mine is now mental. Having had issues and then having an actual problem diagnosed, it always seems to be in the back of my mind that not rising to the occasion will happen again. THAT sucks.

You should notice almost immediate results. I notice next day 'beginning' of improvement. By week's end, things are much much improved.

Hope this helps.

I just received my testopel pellets right at a month ago....my total testosterone went from 318 to 418.....started with 12 pellets.....not quite what I was hoping for either although I do feel better......free testosterone is at 16.6 (8.7-25.1) which is not bad but would like to get that between 20-25.....had my estradiol checked and it was 11.2 (7.6-42.6)....Only minor discomfort for me for about a week......maybe I need more pellets next time.....

Just saw my doctor yesterday and he said we will do more pellets next time. He's thinking 16 pellets. Will get rechecked in a month after that. Also, only going to wait 3 month from initial insert of Testopel. Although Testopel is harder to dial in than other forms of testosterone, I love the fact that you have nothing to do/remember daily. Very convenient...

Yes ............. 20 is low low low! I thought mine of 126 was low, but you've got me beat. (Sorry about that!) DO hope that you get things on the right track for you. I just notified my Doc that I'm 'in need' of the pellet implantation again. By the end of the 3rd month after getting the implant, I am needing it again. Do feel/act so much better when I have it. Good luck!

Typically 2-3 days and you will see a noticable difference.

Thanks Bob. Good luck to you too. I'm eagerly looking forward to getting the testopel. One of my docs said he's against men getting testosterone because he believes it can cause cancer, but he said in my case it was so low that it is necessary.
