How Find Pain Dr Not Afraid To Write Prescriptions
UpdatedAm in central FL & just lost my pain dr. after 10 yrs. I have several intractable pain conditions which means without pain medication I simply would be bedridden & slowly die. I have attempted to establish a new dr. to maintain my pain relief but have been turned away from over 10 now-not to mention the others whom my primary sent records to & they simply denied even an appointment for me. Am wheelchair bound & in extremely obvious pain (deformed arms, knees, back) but here apparently drs. licenses are more important than treating patients. I was actually told by one specialist he wouldn't write me prescriptions because he not want to lose his license. Others simply made excuses why they couldn't take me as a patient client. I had no problems until sept2012 then things began changing & my pain relief has gone from extremely satisfactory to now am completely without a dr. to treat me & only have very few meds left & no hope of a new dr! My primary is horrified that this is happening to me (my conditions are severe) is trying to locate a new dr. for me but none will treat me! Is there anyone who knows a responsible pain dr. not afraid his license is in jeopardy & will accept me? Please if anyone can offer help/suggestions please, please do...
Thanks for any help-
Chris

Chris call Genesis Medical Clinic. Very strict only 2 ER s and max 4 breakthrough..sometimes something is,better than nothing . Be prepared with ur current MRI, xrays he checks your criminal background also, very strict, but pharmacies will fill for him...it is what it is.
I wish you Luck Chris I live near Atlanta I had kept my old Dr till 9-8-15 I was let go I have failed back 4 back 2 neck surgerys so I know what you are going through my DR told me she would not lose her licsene I think the DEA SUCKS and to think our taxes pay there wages.
Chris, I live in Central Florida, and my regular doctor retired after being his patient for more than 10 years. He was prescribing me Opioids, and the only two options to get new doctor that will continue to prescribe them. Is either go to psychiatrist, you will probably have to go several times, and may need to produce records? Which if you don't have insurance can be expensive. Or there are Pain Clinics, where the doctor may prescribe Opioids if you have the correct records, MRI's, Doctors notes, proof of injury or accident, etc... But be prepared to go every month and take random tests. They are very strict now! Your options are limited! Good luck!
