How Do You Handle Back Pain While On Suboxin
UpdatedMy husband has had many back surgeries and procedures - he has taken 200 dalotid in 7 days - he has od'ed on morphien - he went on suboxen for 6 weeks - all was going pretty good - then he started saying he was in pain - then the suboxen wasn't helping - he never was addicted (8 years on opiods) he has a high tolerance - now he stopped the suboxen - and came home with a bag of pills - how do you handle pain without the opiods?

There are several options, however, they all depend on his medical condition and what it causing his back pain.
He could try seeing a chiropractor, massage, relaxation techniques and etc. But as I said, it really depends on what is going to be safe for him to try.
Suboxone is an opiate and should have helped with the pain while he was on it.
What was he taking it for?
Tell your husband the more pain pills he takes the more his brain is going to tell him he needs the pain pills. That is the way addiction works. You said he wasn't addicted! The truth is if he came home with a bag of pills he is addicted! Most of us started out taking these drugs cause we had surgeries or was in an accident. The more you take, the more you have to have!!! If he will give the suboxone time months to work, it will work! He may not be completely pain free, we all have pain! But he will be able to think and feel like himself, and have some natural energy!! He has to be honest for suboxone to work! You can't change what you don't addmit! I wish him all the luck! This drug has truely given me back my life, yes. I have a little pain, but I feel like I did before I ever took my first pain pill, something that I had given up on years ago!! Hope this helps!!
I so disagree I have been on pain meds for 6 years. I learned the hard way there is a huge diffrence between dependent and addictive. I needed a break from the drugs so after discussion and two doctors I finally was able to try suboxin. The first week was great I flet like the old me. Then the pain came. I am still on suboxin now but working on getting off. I am in more pain then I ever been. The research I have come by is the same as anything you take long term you become dependant and from what I have read is it's harder to get off suboxin then heroin and takes longer and just plain awful. It goes on for weeks on and off. So my offical unoffical answer is this. Suboxin is fantasic for addicitions and really sucks for long term pain management. Short term it truly a god send. For people who are truly in pain everyday every minute even hurt while sleeping this is not for you. It certainly not for me.
If oerscribed soboxin can you ever go back on opiods.
