Help Need Answers On Sub Switch To Methadone

Iv bn tking 16mg sub a day for three months want to know how long sub will test positive and how long do i have to be off subs before i feel the affects of methadone cuz i plan on getting back on methadone program

1st I have to ask, why go back to methadone? I've never heard of anyone switching from subs to methadone. I know most on methadone want off of it n want to be on subs. I was on pills n what ever for over 10 yrs, when I 1st started wanting to get clean I thought about methadone for mayb 2 seconds. I used to buy that s*** on the streets n get high! I knew it wouldn't do a damn thing to help me get clean plus I can honestly say in all my years being in this lifestyle, I ain't never met anyone who was actually able to get clean with the methadone. I've been 100% clean for just over a year now. Spent 3 yrs on subs, they saved my life!
To answer ur question tho, reg piss testing don't pick up subs. Only specialized test pick them up. They actually stay in ur system for a long time cuz they are designed that way. My sis in law was taking 4 mgs a day for bout 9 months. She was getting them from her neighbor. Neway, she was getting awful migranes n ended up in hospital, found out she had a brain tumor n she needed pain management program. She stopped the subs for 10 days before her doc put her on them pain patches. Within 30 min of putting that patch on she plummeted into the worst withdrawl symptoms she had ever had. Within 4 - 5 hours her boyfriend took her to emergency room n they admitted her. They were able to stabilize her vitals but nothing made her feel better. She was so sick she actually would scream n cry n beg to freaking die. She spent almost 7 days that sick before the withdrawls finally started to ease. She was finally released from hospital after 10 days. The docs @ hospital said you need to be off subs for atleast 6 - 8 wks before attempting such potent pain meds. I know ppl who have had similar experiances from mixing methadone n subs and from taking methadone too soon after coming off of subs.
You prob be better off staying on subs bcuz if u have even the slightest bit of subs in ur system n take methadone ur gonna wish you had blown ur head off. No lie! Good luck with recovery...
