Help My Chronic Pain Please

I am a chronic pain suffer. Had spinal fusion in 12/72 L4 thru S1 are or were fused solid. Old style fusion massive bone build up huge triangle just above my tail bone. As fine did great no Dr no meds no nothing until I fell on my button 2/88. All Hell has broke loose. My pain has gone crazy. Gets worse and worse and finding help is getting next to impossible. The original fusion was the results of the Vietnam war injury. I finally broke down and went to the local VA hospital. After being on methadone and Oxycodone for over 8 years the Dr there scared me to death. Tells me methadone on its own for no unknown reason can stop your heart! If you are lucky you wake up in 10 minutes if your not somebody finds you after the fact. So I stop the methadone and Oxycodone she puts me on moriphine and Oxycodone. Schedules me for three weeks but gives me two weeks supply. I wind up in the VA emergency room where the Dr talks with my so called pain management Dr. Say to do drug panel. He did I showed trace of methadone still. This was on the 7th of August my next appointment was not til the 14th. I get there on Monday, she says I failed the drug panel, sends me home with gangrene and ministerial. Calls today tells me am a candidate for subprime clinic. This Thursday. She has made my life a living hell and if I come back positive on Thursday only God knows what she will do. In the whole time I have seen her she has not taken an Cray felt or examined my spine. The Dr that last taken care of me had told my daughter who was a man in th heir office my back and spine is a mess. How do you find help when you don't know what to do or what to say. I am 63 am 60 service connected disabled. Was just told by this alleged pain Dr my heart wave length has progressed from we need to keep an eye on it to you could have a heart attack or stroke at any time. I don't want to die but I can nit live in this much pain. My clothes th he are falling off of me I can't sleep I barely can eat. My teeth hurt from grinding them when I do fall asleep for half an hour or so. Who do I turn to where do I start. I got to find a way to stay alive. My kids and grandkids still need me. I live in the greater Cincinnati area

Hello, Papaw! How are you? I am very sorry about what you're going through.

It seems autocorrect had some fun with you, so I'm assuming you meant Suboxone?

Have you tried consulting with a doctor that treats with it? It does contain a potent narcotic, Buprenorphine, which successfully helps people with pain.

As to the Methadone, yes there is a risk of that, but if someone's heart function is normal, it usually isn't stopped due to the possible risk.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
