As Verwon said, kudos! I know how hard it can be. I was an active addict for three years, been a suboxone patient since 2012, hopefully done weaning in 3/4 more months.
Do you have any kind of insurance or Medicaid? If you do the simplest way to find a suboxone doctor you're approved to see is access your insurance website or call directly to get a list. Don't be discouraged if the available physicians are far away or no longer accepting patients, it can be deterring but persistence is key so please don't give up. If you don't have insurance or would prefer to pay cash just Google suboxone doctors in your area and just start calling, compare prices and driving distance, distance did not factor too much in my own decision as after your first several visits you will only be going every 30-90 days.
Good luck Adam, and if you have an issue using the money to either get right or save for your suboxone appt, Try asking if a relative or friends would help pay the first visit and you can pay all the rest, you won't need drugs anymore! Also tell your doctor to explain the addiction that comes with suboxone, what time frame you're looking at and when do they expect to start your weaning. Most physicians seem to leave these parts out, also try to include some counseling as addiction brings so many mental health issues and struggles along with it.
Don't be afraid or ashamed to ask for help or be discouraged if you experience resistance in any form, do this for you and your family.
Hello, Adam! How are you? I'm very sorry about what you're going through, but kudos to you for getting help.
You can search for doctors in you area by using the search engine on the website, Suboxone.com click here.
Contact information will be included, so you can contact them and see what their fees are and etc.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
