I had been on the suboxone film, for 5 months and prior to that the suboxone tabs with no problems, but due to insurance I had to switch to the white generic tabs, the first day I got hives all over my face, I am still getting them not as bad as the first day, and my mouth has become so sensetive, tooth paste, mints, pepper all burn my mouth bad, I have aslo been very sick to my stomach, today is day 6 on them. I live in Ma. and I was told they will only pay for the brand name if I have children under 7 in my custody, I was wondering id anyone else has had any problems with the generic suboxone...

Re: Tammy (# 3)
Tammy, I am on day one of the generic and can totally relate with you. I am supposed to take 1.5 per day and I am already on my 3rd one because they simple do not work for me. It really irritates me to no end when insurance companies think they can pull a fast one on patients. I am absolutely furious and going to my doctor tomorrow to return this junk and get the original version that works. If the insurance company decides they won't pay for it then too bad, they're paying for it, or I will get a panel of attorneys to represent me. It's bad enough that the pharmacy personnel look at me differently than other customers and treat me like I'm some kind of degenerate. The Lord says to love thy neighbor but in this day and age it is so difficult because people are such COMPLETE A**HOLES!
I am in Northeast Pa and am looking for a doctor that accepts Blue Cross for subutex/subuxone. All of the doctors charge a minimum of $100 per visit. If I had state medical assistance, I could hop right on a clinic. I am actually considering going back on methadone. Subutex/suboxone is so hard to get off of. I have kicked H and methadone but the subs damn near killed me. So if anybody knows of a doctor in the Lehigh Valley area in Pa please post on here. I am desperate.
Hi, my name is Tammy and I just came across your post. I am so glad that I did because I was beginning to think I was losing my mind. I have been on the suboxone pill and now the film for 3 years now. Just recently when they came out with the generic suboxone pill, my new Dr switched me to that. After taking it for only a week, I felt like my body was thrown into that withdrawl feeling. I felt everything but better. I was sick to my stomach, had the shacks really bad, my whole body just felt weak. There were so many side effects it was unbelievable. I called the Dr and told him what was going on and thankfully he switched me back to the film. I know everyone is different with medicine but my experience with the generic sub was horrible!! It just made me want to go use right away rather than feel that way. I hope everything is working out for you now and you were able to get everything straight. Good luck to you hun!!
I read most of the suboxone details link you sent me and I saw nothing about alergic reactions or hives or sore mouth.....I am disabled, low income and on public insurance so they will only pay for generic
You definitely need to consult your doctor.
The hives and other symptoms could be the sign that you're developing an allergic reaction that has the potential to be very dangerous.
Learn more Suboxone details here.
And who is paying for them? Do you have some type of low-income, public insurance?
I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with what's available in MA.
