Hi lucas,

From what I'm finding online, "handlebars" are just a slang term for Xanax bars, which I'm guessing is due to their "bar" or rectangular shape. Other street names they may go by are footballs, zansabars, xannie, etc... but to further answer your question, this medication is generally used for treating anxiety and panic disorders.

Hope this helps! Does any one else here recognize the term "handlebars" being used in a different context?
