From your description, I have a suspicion that you've found half of an Amlodipine tablet, there are 2 available that would have the logo IG on one side and numbers that start with 23 on the other, a 5mg one with 238 and a 10mg one with 239 on it, both are round and white.
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, dry cough, increase urination and hypotension.
I can't be certain, of course, since you only have half of the tablet, but that's the nearest match I can find.
