Hair Follicle Drug Test And Oxycodone (Page 13) (Top voted first)

I am prescribed oxycodone 10mg taken 4 times daily. I take them as directed. I recently took a 5 panel hair follicle test and it came back negative on everything. Does anyone know a reason that this would not show up on a hair test? I did not have my hair colored or bleached in over two years and I did not take anything to try to alter the results. Thanks!

When the lab gets the sample, say a 1.5 inch sample- 90 days history, they take a part of it and pulverize it into a powder and they run it. As you can see whatever drug is in the hair is averaged over that 90 day time period. So it doesn't matter how the doses are taken but looks at the total amount. As far as the last question goes, even a Medical Review Officer would have a very hard time answering that question. Usually I tell people someone would have to do a drug 1-2 times a week for it to show up

Hello December 16th I had mouth surgery for broken test I only got ibuprofen 800 maximum strength tylonal and amoxicillin 500 now 12/17 I took 1 perc 5mg and the next day same thing due to the fact the ibuprofen was not helping yesterday 1/16/18 I took a hair test for a job I am not a drug user or a pill user will the Percs show up on my results

That small amount of drug won't show up in a hair drug test.

Is a 7 panel Hair Follicle test the extend op test? If I take a 15mg perc and split it into 4 quarters and take 3 or 4 of the quarters a day for 2 months will it show on a 7panel hair follicle test? (Pre-employment for the Rail Road).

When the lab gets the hair they pulverize a 1.5 inch long sample of hair so as you can see the amount you took in that 30 days would be averaged over 90 day time period so that is most likely why you passed. If they only did a 30 day test, which I get requests for, you would have come up positive. Hope that makes sense.

So I have a custody dispute. They court ordered both parties to take a 12 panel test. My hair on my
Head was too short and they cut my armpit hair. I busted a tooth and took 1 oxy (not sure the dose) about 6 months ago. The pill was also expired. Chances this will show up as a positive?

A hair test is meant to show consistent use over time. That small of an amount will not show up on a Hair 5 Drug Panel With Extended Opiates test.

I’ve taken maybe 10 Percocet 5mg in the last 6 months , with the most recent being 3 months ago. I’m assuming they are going to take body hair, since I have very little on my head. Should i be ok?

You might have some trouble passing a hair drug test if they check for the extended opiates. One of the reasons is the usual cutoff level for oxycodone is 200 pg/mg, which is fairly low.

Drugs can be detected in body hair as far back as 6-12 months. If you took 10 percocets in the last 6 months, like your post #246 says, you might have trouble passing a body hair test. I have a good faq on my site but I can't put the address here. In the future you might consider doing your own anonymous hair test.

Ok. I have a script for oxycodone that expired last may, would they take that. Seeing as may would be within the year time frame?

Also found out it’s with quest who’s cutt off is 500pg/mg. Definitely extended opiates. I don’t know if that helps my chances or not

The higher the cutoff the less likely you are to turn up positive. 500 is on the high side. All of our opiates are set at 200. As far as where to take the hair from it doesn't matter.
