I have been on this medication for many years and I have NEVER seen 1mg Alprazolam in any other color or shapes other than blue, power blue and small round or oval! I wasn't sure if it was a mistake, which was doubtful or I thought maybe my pharmacy changed companies. My insurance has only covered the generic form but was usually Mylan. So, I have also noticed a difference with how well the different kinds of generic forms worked! I have been told the generic form does as well as the name brand. Is that honestly true? If so, then why are there all these generic forms? I know they're obviously cheaper but why are they ,if they're supposed to work just as well? Finally, even though the price is very high and they're not covered by most insurance companies, would it work better as well as being better for me especially do to the severity of my anxiety and depression disorders? Please, I can only pray you are able to answer all these questions to the best of your knowledge and I would truly appreciate YOUR honest opinion, especially with the final question. Thank you so very much for time,effort and already helping me find out that my prescription was correct! Again, thank you and I sincerely appreciate your help... P.S. I just got green generics too.but I have gotten them in different colors.so it really doesn't matter as long as they work.the only time they don't seem to work as well is if their old. But I'm sure thsoey have to be up to date.don't worry.I get anxiety too.maybe you need a stronger dose.good luck.

I have been taking Xanax for 7+ years in the 1 mg. pill form & my brother has been on them for 3 years. The pharmacy we use changes generics every now and then. Over the years, I've seen light green, light blue, and a somewhat mottled looking darker blue pill. What I found interesting is that, independently, my brother & I both found the unevenly colored, darker blue generic pill to be noticeably lacking in strength. When I take Xanax, I most often take half a pill at a time. Even a whole pill of the darker blue type didn't work as well as half one of either the light blue or green. Not sure who the generic maker is of the inferior pill, but the difference is notable enough that I've asked my pharmacy to tell me ahead of time if that's what they're stocking so I can fill the Rx elsewhere. I KNOW there's not supposed to be any difference between brand & generics, but in this specific case, I don't believe it.
