Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic, meant to reduce the amount of water in the body. 1 or 2 of these could be enough to dehydrate a 2 year old and dehydration can be dangerous and if let go, it can be fatal.
If they took them, you will probably notice an increase in urinary frequency and output. They may also complain of stomach pain, body aches, especially in the lower back, headaches, have a loss of appetite and increased thirst.
