I have pcos. My Dr. has prescribed me glycomet SR 500 mg. I wanna know what are its side effects and what is its use?

Glycomed do not have any side effects. In fact a good drug for women. It regulates the hormonal imbalance, improves fertility and helps in weight loss. I believe it will put a pause to hair loss in scalp and extra hair growth as well.

I am sorry to barge in but glycomet contains metformin which certainly has side effects. I am a type 1 diabetic on insulin 4 times a day and take glycomet sr twice daily for my diabetes and pcos. Metformin does help women with pcos but it has severe consequences from short to long run. I would recommend people to google metformin and gain knowledge about it. Latest research even suggests that it is important to take vitamin B12 supplement with any metformin composition otherwise you are at greater risk of thinning hair, damage to nerve system, dementia, amnesia etc. please discuss about it with your endocrinologist and do not ignore the bad side of metformin. make sure to take nutrient supplment for a better health else its not going to help but deteriorate and cause you more troubles.

My HBA LC( GLYCO HB) IS 8.7 % AND MY SERUM INSULIN ( FASTING ) IS 13,89 ulU/ml and my serum insulin ( pp) is 70.66 ulU/ml.
moreover my Sugar Fasting is 162 and cholesterol is 291 mg/dl anf my triglycerides is 513,
After seeing reports my doctor advise me cetapin XR 1 gm (2 TABLET DAILY AFTER BREAK FAST AND DINNER) for sugar and Roseday F for triglycride and chelostrol ( 1 daily after dinner )
please Advise me for this should I take daily or change this medicine . before this treatment I take half tablet of glycomet 500 sr daily after dinner.

please guide me I just start this treatment 1day ago

Hi i m not a diabetic pt but my weight is 90 kg wid in 3 month my weight is increase 10kg. So I just ask could I take tab glycomet 500 daily after meal to reduse my weight wid this I can start excersise daily.

Dr. I have diabetic for the past two years. I am maintainting 120 & 140 and having getrol forte so far. Now I have TSH 8.27 and prescribed eltroxin 50 mg and Glycomet SR 500 mg. usually if I have Tablets I feel drowsy and tired. I too had blader stone twice and treated by lithotripsy method. Though 01.06.2013 report shows two calculi of 5 mm and 6 mm in the upper middle calyx for which I have been advised to take utiliser 3 bottles. Now I have pain in left side and abdomen. I am confused for which I should under go treatment and is it advisable to take the above medicines

Hi, I am having blood sugar level 151/191 fasting/PP and have been advised to take 1 tab of mecobalmin ER 1500 mcg and 1/2 tab of Pioz 15 after dinner. Pl advise it's suitability to me.

I am male 58 years old have been tested for blood sugar and for the first time reported 151/191 level fasting/PP. My physician advised to take 1 tab of glycomet 500 SR and 1/2 tab of Pioz 15 after dinner daily for 3 months. Any one who is physician of repute pl advise me the suitability of above medicine to me.

Hello, I am taking Glycomet SR 500 from a year my sugar levels are 141/176 ff/pp but I want to confirm is this ok or do I need to change the tablet.... My younger bro was given by a doc Zitamet 50/500 his sugar are much better than me after using this tab 110/15th. Can u also use the same tablet please advise.... Thanks

I'm prescribed Glycomet 500mg twice a day, but during evening time blood sugar again remains at same position (i.e 220 in the morning) before breakfast it shows around 150-160. Shall i increase my dosage to 3 tablets?
