Gelmicin Cream For Eczema
UpdatedI just got a tube of Gelmincin. My grandson had a severe case of eczema, red itchy on back of leg arms and back ...just want to know if anyone had used it for their eczema and get some feedback on the usage.
Hello, Faith13! How are you and your grandson?
I'd suggest not using it on him, without doctor's approval. Using the wrong thing may actually make it worse.
Gelmicin contains a topical steroid, an antibiotic and antifungal medication. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin irritation, redness, dryness and itching.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Thank you for your reply. We are currently using Aquaphor and Tropical oil Fluocinolone Acetonide prescribed by his dermatologist but we haven't seen a change. Still breaking out, very irritated and slways itchy. Feel so bad that we can't find anything that can help him :-(
Hello, I use that cream cause my daughter has eczema really bad, when we went to Mexico my aunt told me to use it and I did the next day it went away now I use it when it appears.. And it hasn't gotten as bad as it use to. I just see a spot I apply it I also put on her body after each bath I use curél itch defense and also it helps.. Her skin is no longer dry and or scabie. Thank god for that lotion cause I was to apoint that I used everything and nothing helped... I hope it helps your grandson...
Thank you. Yes this is what I've heard from others who have used this cream. My grandson is so small and just want to make sure we're using something that is safe on him.
I have just been given this cream from a friend and she said try it on my son who has eczema. We have tried everything we can think of and even the hydrocortisone his dr gave us doesn't seem to work. I'm hesitant about putting everything people offer me on his skin. I know they want to help but this post has given me a better feeling about trying it. I think I might start with a small section to see how he reacts.
I hope that it help with your sons eczema. Please keep me posted. Thank you.
I have hand eczema. I get it every year when it starts to warm up. My hands get very bad from the sun hitting them when I drive. My nail lady told me to try gelmicin. I put it on last night and my hands almost healed over night! My dermatologist has given me many creams I've the last 30 years and nothing has worked! Gelmicin is miraculous!
Hi Mel! Is your boy's "rash" at its worse in winter? I have a type of eczema that effects mostly my upper body. My face suffers most & it can get depressing. Over the years I've tried every prescription & otc cream/ointment available. Mine gets worse in winter & I feel the tap water where I live affects it as well. I've lived in NE Ohio past 16 yrs but my home is coastal SC. I spend as much time in sc as possible not only because my family is there but after 3 days of sunshine and showering at my mom's house the eczema is practically non existent. A week & I don't think about it. I made a discovery last year when I had to attend an important function the night after arriving in SC & my face was still a mess. Since no cream helped I was at a loss. Desperate, I grabbed a piece of aloe from one of my mother's plants and patted the juice on my face. I waited 20 minutes, looked in the mirror and was surprised at the change for the better. I was able to apply makeup that went on smoothly. Miracle. That night before bed I prepared for the next day by putting several aloe "leaves" in a container in the fridge. Then I mixed a little coconut oil with some of the juice & applied the mix before bed (placed a beach towel over my pillow). Never know! My recipe is; 3 parts Organic Aloe Vera juice to 1 part organic coconut oil. Apply a very thin layer to the affected area. I buy my aloe from amazon & you can get it with or without a thickener. I prefer the thicker concoction as pressed aloe is the consistency of water which is a mess. Almost forgot. Coconut oil is solid and separates from aloe when in the fridge or at room temp. It's easier to work with if you place a freezer bag with a portion of the mix in a bowl of hot water till the coconut oil melts. You can nuke a bit for 3 secs only! This concoction will get SCALDING HOT if NUKED TOO LONG. ALWAYS TEST A DROP ON YOURSELF BEFORE APPLYING TO SOMEONE ELSE. I hope this can bring some relief for your boy.
My son 9 months had a bad case of eczema from October to March. I took him to the doctor and they just kept diagnosing it was a skin infection and gave me creams, antibiotics, plus all the other otc creams and the steroid cream was the only thing that healed my sons face. But a family friend told me to use a cream from mexico and said if this doesnt clear it up nothing will. So i decided to give it a shot and tested it on a small area behind his leg, and sure enough by the morning his skin was already healing. Its kind of frustrating when youre wasting your time in a doctors office and theyre just guessing whats wrong. I recommend using this cream as the ingreditents are Bethamesone= steriod / anti inflammatory, Clotrimazole = anti fungal and gentamicin = antibiotic so its nothing harmful. trust me before i tried it in a small place i wanted to just put it alll over his body in desperation to help my suffering baby. Now i have a happy child and have not seen him itchy or irritated.
Hi Ry, I'm sure I don't need to tell you Bethamesone is sold by prescription only in the US. Probably don't need to tell you there's possible side effects associated with it as well but I'm gonna do it anyway. Hahaha. Good luck with your boy, I know how exasperating this skin condition can be!
I use gelmicin on my exczema. 3 days and it completely goes AWAY. No skin discolartion literally just gone. Whenever it starts coming back its not as bad and i put the cream on and BAM gone! I love this! I bought like 15 tubes in Mexico.
I use it for my eczema all the time. I went on vacation to Mexico and my Eczema got really bad the lady showed Gelmicin as an anti-itch cream. I've been using it for the last 10 years every time I have a major outbreak it clears it up completely within 3 days without any skin discoloration and if it does start to come back, a dab of the cream makes it go away. I only use it for as long as needed for the skin to be completely cleared. I dont over use it and I have read not to use it for more than a couple days. I think the longest it ever took for me to clear up an extremely BAD spot was 5 days anyway
Topicort is SUPER EXPENSIVE! Almost $700. A tube .go to Canada's pharmacy and get it for like $60 a tube. IT WORKS!! PERIOD! MY SON HAS ECZEMA TO THE WORST DEGREE ! Topicort is the only medication that I have seen that clears him up and relieves the itching !! His skin is 80% better now!
Please try this and stop messing with those light weight none effective creams and ointments.

My daughter is now 9 months old and has suffered from eczema since she was 3mths old. We tried EVERYTHING and NOTHING helped. A friend gave me the cream and it helped right away. I only use it when I see the eczema coming back. Hope this helped!
Re: Mel (# 5)
Hey i have had severe eczema for 22 yrs now and so i know your childs pain. Ive used many things over the years but only one medicine ever really clears it up until the next outbreak of course and that is : triamcinolone 0.5% it comes in ointment and cream, i use and have always used the ointment its way more soothing requires less and stays on the skin longer. It will literally clear up overnight. Also between using the ointment stay away from using anything scented tht will touch your childs skin, water is our worst enemy so no prolonged water use. When your child is in between outbreaks use vaseline
Hi Faith, my 6 year old son slap has severe eczema. I bought 6 tubes of Gelmicin laat year and I can honestly say that there is nothing else that works as good a Gelmicin! It is absolutely amazing. I have not had any for a couple of months and my son's eczema is bad again so I have ordered more Gelmicin. The eczema is caused by allergies. The only way you can really control it is by eliminating or controlling what they are allergic to. But when the flare ups and inflammation starts, there is nothing else i will recommend as strongly as Gelmicin.
Hi! I used it for my little one and it was definitely a life saver! I did see that it’s a topical steroid so I only use it on outbreaks. But when I say it works within a day, I really mean it. She had open sores and it clears her up.
Gelmicin is the absolute best for eczema. It cured a 5 year eczema problem i had.

My brother has eczema and recommende gelmicin for my daughter. He swore by it, so I gave it a shot. It worked great! I bought it at a Mexican goods store here in Newton, NC.
I had really bad eczema under eyes with inflammation and redness . Tried my prescribed cream with no result. Remembered I had bought gelmicin when we went to Mexico. Applied it last night and I’m the morning inflammation was gone. Did another application in the morning to get rid of dryness. But this cream is magical. I loved the results overnight.
