I have a bottle of flurazepam 30 mg, I found in my drawer from 2010 when I suffered from insomnia back then, anyhow I am suffering from insomnia again, I just want to kno if I can still take flurazepam even though it's from 2010, it's an unopened bottle, they look fresh to me, I just want to be sure if I can take one at bedtime even if expired.

This medication is a benzodiazepine that is used to treat insomnia, anxiety, and some panic disorders. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, irritability, and headache.

Maria, it does not become dangerous, once expired, but it does lose efficacy, so it would be best to dispose of it, and see your doctor for a new supply, if you need one.

It is not typically used for pain, although it may help you to relax, so it could relieve some muscle pain.
