Finding Pain Management Doctor Under United Healthcare

My mother and I just moved to New Orleans. I cannot believe the difficulty this town is putting g her through, first, to even get in to see a doctor, and then, one that will write her a pain medicine prescription that lasts more than a week and/or a Pain Management doctor that will accept her as a client. She is now in a struggle with the brand new, shiny and huge(privately owned) hospital downtown. The doctor she finally got..she is on disability, under United Healthcare...gave her a small script, then a very short list of PM doctors, some of whom turn out to not accept that insurance, who told her that if she could not find one, to just contact him and he would give her another script. Then he left town. Apparently, no one could communicate this, just keep telling her he was being given the messages. She is 60 years old, with 3 back injuries, just needing relief and her life back, and it's a total game they are playing here. It's disgusting. I was so afraid this would happen, while following national politics, some years ago, but to actually have to see her go through this is heart-breaking. Does anyone know what steps she could take?

I'm having same issue had sciatica and herinated disc went numb from waist down surgery was in Feb back having reoccurring issues and now set up for MRI and spinal exams still having pain the Dr I found is no longer here now I'm back trying to find a Dr accepting United healthcare (Medicaid)It's like they don't care
