I'm trying to get off her ion and want to find doctor who will help by prescribing it for me I have no license a clinics not an option

Hi, my name is Rebecca and I am addicted to opiates. I battled addiction for years, but have found myself in a place I NEVER thought I'd be. Does anyone know if you can be prescribed methadone by your regular - Or do I have to go to a clinic? I no it sounds ridiculous but I REALLY need to do this w/ out my husband knowing..I know, I know: I could use his support..But he's been thru SO much w/ my addiction; & I don't think our marriage will survive him knowing I went down like this. Any help would be appreciated so much!!

Hi my name is Kelley, i have multiple health problems that causes me a lot of pain. However, i feel like i have an opiate addiction. So im trying to find a private pain management doctor that will prescribe me methedone to help my pain and addiction. I live in the cleveland area. Im trying to help myself the best i can. Is there anyone else in this situation.

Hi Jeremy, unfortunately if you need methadone for addiction (to help you get off H) you would have to go to a clinic. Regular doctors cannot prescribe methadone for addiction but they can prescribe it for pain. However you may be able to find a doctor that will prescribe Suboxone. Many doctors now have the certification needed to prescribe it. Go to SAMHSA.gov and you can find a Suboxone doctor near you. I wish you luck!

No he said in his first sentence that HE is coming off H but can't go to a clinic bc he dosent have a license / ID to show them

Dear Jeremy, r u talking about H? Cause if u r, u need 2 go 2 a clinic 4 maintenance. Regular Drs cannot prescribe help 4 addiction. It's a law. GOOD LUCK 2 u. Is it H u r talking about?

Only Methadone Clinics can prescribe Methadone for maintance. If you were taking Methadone for chronic pain, you would still need a state picture ID before you could get the prescription filled.

Jeremy-to be clear...you want a prescription for methadone for YOU in order to supervise someone else who is coming off H.
