Fenofibrate Side Effects That Have Not Gone Away

Very fatigued, ABD pain and nausea. MD did blood work to check liver enzymes, BMP, Amylase, Lipase. Ultra sound completed today of gallbladder, pancreas, liver. Was only on fenofibrate for 20 days 145mg. Could not take lipitor for severe muscle cramps. However lipitor was out well the muscle pains ended 36 hours after taking the med. I don't feel better yet after D/Cing the fenofibrate for 4 days. Results not back with the test, will know if any damage to my gallbladder in 2 days.

Fenofibrate is no longer being taken and the fatigue, abdominal pain, sneezing and nausea continue after 5 days not ingesting this medication. No results on the test are back. Is anyone experiencing extended side effects from this medication after stopping for 5 or more days? Is it possible this medication really placed a wrench in my system? How long will it take for my body to be my body again? Almost feel like an Alien entered and beat me from the inside!!

I took Fenofibrate for five days and felt terrible muscle and nerve pain. I stopped the med and now it is 3 1/2 weeks later still in excruciating pain. In my back down my buttocks and leg feels like sciatica nerve pain. I think the Fenofibrate caused irritation of my sciatica nerve. Also my right shoulder down to my elbow especially the muscle. I can hardly pick up my arm over my head. I also have fibromyalgia but I know it's not the usual fibromyalgia pain and it's to much of a coincidence that this pain started right after taking the Fenofibrate. I am going for an epidural in a week and a half hoping that it will help the pain in my back and sciatica. I'm living with 10+ pain level at times now. I don't know what I'll do If this inj. doesn't help.

Fenofibrate is known to cause such side effects as joint/muscle pain, headache, dizziness, malaise, and overall weakness, just like statin drugs, and many people simply can't tolerate taking them.

In many cases, it is far easier for people to lower their cholesterol through diet, and lifestyle changes, if they are at levels that lower the risk of doing so.
