Eye Drops With Oxymetazoline (Page 6)
Updatedreplacement for Visine LR
Its really funny, doesn't burn my eyes at all, but I've been using daily for 25 years. Vision is still perfect, no glasses just red eyes every morning. Works like magic for me.
I use Oxymetazoline nasal spray @ .05 percent but spray it on my eyes. It's way cheaper and has an airbrushing action. It works. Not that I would ever condone off label usage of any product. Don't try it but it works.
Mix that with 50/50 with water and you have eye drops that work like Visine Long Lasting . Again works for me , try at your own risk.
I use Afrin all the time... no problems at all and works great! Thank god. I was in a panic when I knew I couldn't get the VLR anymore. Afrin even works better.
Bought a bottle of Allergex. So far it's been a week and found it to work exactly the same as the LR. $38.00/15ml. It works for me. Little expensive but I don't like the feel of the tears/Afrin mix which I tried a couple of days. So far very happy.
Has anyone heard anything new on this from Johnson & Johnson or any other company?
Can we try putting Iliadin nose drops directly into the eye? Probably works better than spraying...
I'm finally down to my last bottle of Visine LR. I have already spent hundreds of dollars trying other eyedrops and they all irritate my eyes, even the drops from the eye doctor cause me irritation.
The foreign made eyedrops, Cendo Asthenof and Zoamet both bother my eyes after a few uses. I am desperate for something to use as my eyes get really red, dry, and swollen without the Visine LR. How safe is Afrin and can it be used without diluting it?
The funny thing about this forum is we haven't all asked --what is this ailment we all seem to share? I have been to numerous eye doctors and they all say my eyes are basically fine. I get regular checks when I get contact lenses renewed, and always perfect eyes. And yet, when I wake up, my eyes are red and feel terrible. But two drops of the magic Visine LR and I am OK for the whole day. I still have about 10 bottles left, but they are all expired! I wonder what is worse-- using expired LR drops or starting on the Afrin/distilled water mix! Any thoughts?
Re: kerry (# 107)
Update: Been using this for 5 months now. Just one drop does the trick and still working well.

I’m sure the reason for this is the new drug for prosit that is our it’s way expensive. Pharma is trying to epilate an affordable option
