If it is in a bottle as dispensed by your pharmacy, then it would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply, unless your doctor okays your taking it. Medications tend to degrade with time and once they are removed from the factory sealed container and placed in a pharmacy dispensing bottle, they are exposed to the elements that cause degradation, such as heat, light and moisture. Thus, once expired, they will not be as effective as they were, when new.
The FDA classifies this medication as a calcium channel blocker that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, dry cough and hypotension.
