Hello, Penny! How are you?
It's kind of a catch-all term that's used to describe a condition that has occurred without other explanation or cause, but which causes chronic widespread pain, fatigue, joint stiffness, depression and possibly anxiety, as explained by the NIH.
In other words, the person may seem perfectly healthy and have no other detectable health conditions, but they still present with these types of symptoms and they are bad enough to be debilitating and disrupt their normal activities.
