The medication for high blood pressure should be taken all the time, not just when you get a high reading. They will not reach their full effectiveness and lower your blood pressure properly if you only take them once in awhile.

As to the Etodolac, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and yes, they can do some damage in some people that may cause high blood pressure or other cardiac issues, though it usually happens with long term use of high doses, not in just a few weeks.

With your irregular menstrual cycle, coupled with the high blood pressure, you may actually have something else going on, such as a hormonal imbalance. The clotting is also a sign of such a problem happening.

Since you are 44, it's highly possible that you're in perimenopause, which can start as early as 35, but is more common in women over 40.
