Epidural Inj's, Severe Sciatica And Ddd, Pelvic Inflammation
UpdatedHi. I'm looking for advice or personal experience. For close to 10yrs I've been suffering from pelvic inflammatory disease, severe sciatica and Degenerative disc disc, hip & knee problems. I've recently been referred to pain management. I have never been on pain meds, except for times when I had surgery. I'm really skeptical about the inj's. & how I will feel after getting them done. I'm a 24/7 caretaker to my 72yr old father, I do just about everything for him & he can't be left alone for longer than an hour. Im an only child, my mother isn't around either. I am also a single mom to a child w/severe bowel issues and ADHD, she is 5yrs old. I am busy 100% of my day, laying down and resting is never an option. I don't have anyone to come & help me w/my daughter & father. I desperately need pain relief, I spend way too much time crying from pain, sometimes it is so bad it makes me throw up & I get maybe 3hrs of sleep a night before the pain hits. I've been on antidepressants that I was told would help the pain, they did not & made my mental state very bad. I've been on Flexerill & another type of relaxer which didn't help & made me so tired that I couldn't keep my eyes open, which is not safe for my daughter or father. I take a ton of Tylenol that doesn't even help, but was told to stop taking so much because my liver is showing distress. I have kidney probs & can't take ibuprofen. I haven't heard many ppl say that having inj. was worth it & it left them in more pain or bad side effects. I can't imagine being in more pain! Most ppl I spoke to have said they needed to rest, lay down for a day or two after inj., that isn't an option for me. I'm just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation or can offer any advice. I need to have some relief before I lose my mind & so that I can properly take care of my father & daughter. No sleep, due to pain, is making me a zombie. Its very hard to get doctors to listen and understand my situation, they seem to take it as I'm not being cooperative...Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It really depends on what type of medication they want to give you. Not all pain management doctors use the same medication.
Some of them can cause tiredness and headache, according to the FDA, but not all and it can also vary from person to person. You may not experience the same side effects as someone else did.
Do you know any other information on the medication used?
