Based on my research,
Efudex (fluorouracil) Solutions and Cream are topical preparations that contain the fluorinated pyrimidine 5-fluorouracil, an antineoplastic antimetabolite.
Efudex Solution consists of 2% or 5% fluorouracil on a weight/weight basis. Ingredients used in the formulations include: propylene glycol, tris (hydroxymethyl) aminomethane, hydroxypropyl cellulose, parabens (methyl and propyl) and disodium edetate.
Efudex Cream contains 5% fluorouracil in a cream base that contains the ingredients: white petrolatum, stearyl alcohol, propylene glycol, polysorbate 60 and parabens (methyl and propyl).
Efudex (fluorouracil) topical side effects include: skin irritation, dryness, scaling or peeling (exfoliation), rash, and other local reactions. Eye irritation has also been reported.
If you experience an allergic reaction ie: (shortness of breath; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, face, or tongue; or hives), stop using Efudex (fluorouracil) and seek emergency medical attention.
You can learn more about this drug on the page for Efudex Details
I hope this additional info helps!
I think you mean Efudex. Efudex and Carac are prescribed for the treatment of actinic or solar keratoses (small red horned growths or flesh-colored wartlike growths caused by overexposure to ultraviolet radiation or the sun). Such growths may develop into skin cancer. When conventional methods are impractical--as when the affected sites are hard to get at--the 5 percent strength of Efudex is useful in the treatment of superficial basal cell carcinomas, or slow-growing malignant tumors of the face usually found at the edge of the nostrils, eyelids, or lips. Efudex is available in cream and solution forms.
