Dog Accidentally Ate Plavix

I'm not for sure but it is possible my maltese / yorkie <10# ate one plavix 75mg What will happen? anything I can do?

My pug puppy accidentally ate a plavix and died so yes it is deadly in some dogs especially smaller breeds

My 32 pound wheaten is actually prescribed plavix 37.5 once daily by Tufts veterinary hospital after getting a clot in his leg so Plavix is fine, no issues with dogs.

My 95 pound male Rottweiler ate a 75 mg Plavix about an hour ago when my mother dropped it. He was QUICK. He seems just fine. I am just watching him very closely and so far, so good. My mother only weighs 125 so weight wise she is not much bigger than him. I am just not sure how animals metabolize compared to humans so don't know if 75 mg of Plavix could be toxic to him. Thank you.

Carol, thanks for the feedback - can you post back here when you find out what the vet says? I'm sure it would be very helpful for others to know. I do hope that your dog is okay!

I am sorry, I am not really very familiar with medication use in dogs, have you called your vet and asked?

If I had to guess, I'd say that I doubt one pill would have much long-term effect,but I cannot be sure of this.

How is the dog doing?
