I have chronic pain need a new doctor who will write my prescriptions .

Hello, Alfred! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain.

However, there is no guarantee that any doctor will or will not write your prescriptions for you. The only thing you can really do is see a pain management specialist, make sure they receive a full copy of your current medical records and then discuss your treatment options. But, if you ask them to prescribe specific medications, they will most likely view that as being drug seeking behavior and won't write them. It's best to let your medical records speak for you.

Do you currently have a PCP that might be able to refer you to someone?

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

Does anyone know of any Drs in the PA area who write for pain medication? I have been on oxycodone and morphine, and now my Dr. is cutting everyone's medication down due to people selling them illegally. Any help with be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! Dani

Danielle and Vernon your best bet at this point is to take very little information not your whole lifes story just your state id and your entire perscription history from the pharmacist your insurance card to one of the advanced urgent cares pain managment centers montomeryville and willow grove in mongomery county or grant and the blvd or cityline ave in philly they have a very good pain managment system as long as your mris prove pain they can help u get your painmeds promise

Danielle before u get a new doctor be honest with your new one make sure he knows what your old one was writing make sure u stop getting the scripts completely from your old doctor before u fill any new pm scripts if u fill 2 scripts even by accident its considered doctor shopping even if the pharmacy doesnt catch it the dea will and then a letter gets sent to both docs and both docs will cut u off not saying u will danielle im just saying your post says cutting down once u take a script from urgent cares pain managment u cant get any pain meds from old doc

I went to grant urgent care they said they couldn't help me. I don't know cause I was on a high dose but they wouldn't help with any guarantee and said the dr most likely wouldn't prescribe. So I don't know. Maybe il call the one in willow grove n see. I too need a dr asap...

My dr. retired and I'm screwed. every dr. wont take me they think I'm on too high of a dose or they don't want nothing to do with methadone and I've been on that and all other kinds of opiates. I was getting benzos from my dr. Also and methadone clinics won't take me cause I'm on benzos. when I was on the clinics they never had a problem with anyone being on benzos. So I can't get on a clinic until I find a dr. I have real medical issues, m.r.i.s, nerve diagnostics, ect..From my feet. Knees & back.. Detoxes are only 5 to 7 days it's going to take me a lot longer to get off opiates. I was in valley forage rehab. they kept me o. Methadone the whole 28 days I was there because I was so sick. I was on 150 mcgs. of fentanyl and 180 mgs. a day. I live in bucks co. I can drive to phila. I just need a dr. that can help me before I get real sick. thank you for anyone can help..

Looking for new back Doctor. Inj's failed (had 8). I work, in so much back pain. I have degenerative disc disease and 3 torn discs. Looking for new pain Dr. Will pay for prescription if necessary. What is a pain management place that will write for pain medication. Only take 1-2 Percocet a day and Dr. said Obama laws won't let him write anymore. I don't understand? Please suggestions.

Hi I live in south Philadelphia looking for a nice understanding pain management doctor..I get very intimidated by doctors because I have been treated very rudely in the past..I have degenerative disc disease bulging discs in my lumbar spine I have had epidurals but they did not help and possibly fibro my joints are always in severe pain my pregnancies have aggravated all of it.. I have kids and im very worried because my body is shot im scared thank you I wish everyone the best of luck

I need a doctor in Philadelphia, PA or close to there, who will prescribe me what my family doctor was prescribing me for pain, which was ten 30 mg oxycodone and ten 10/325 Percocet and ninety 1mg xanax a month. My family doctor treated me for over ten years for pain due to serious injuries from an accident and then decided he no longer wanted to treat anymore pain patients. He referred everyone to this pain management center who cut all doses in half and then three months later cut dose again to two of each day. I am in bed, single parent, in constant pain and have no life. I cannot live like this. Please anyone know a doctor who will write in Philadelphia, PA

Hi everyone! Looking for some help. Because of all the new laws my PCP is referring me to a pain management to continue my 30 mg Oxy-codon prescription monthly. I am unable to find a Doctor who will continue to write me this prescription. I have MRI's that prove I am in need of my medication and other pain causing diseases. Please help in south Jersey/Philadelphia area.
