Doctors Who Prescribe Oxycodone In Seattle Washington
UpdatedSevere back pain - ptsd - severe head aches. Looking for a doctor, maybe VA. Will VA prescribe?.. Also they lost my medical records.
Hello, Brandon! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain, no one should have to suffer.
However, there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you.
I know most VA hospitals have pain management programs, so you could try contacting them.
Does anyone else have any ideas?
VA will not prescribe opiates. My Dad suffers as well and they just overload him with NSAIDS and recommend neck surgery. We are not sure that would be a great idea for someone 70+ with PTSD and no discs between C5, C6 and C7
I can relate, also have ptsd and back problems,
all i can say is this:
getting on the opiate train when you have ptsd is def a bad idea, i self medicated my ptsd with opiates for a long time and really screwed up my life. It was especially hard for me to get clean because of my ptsd and the heavy anxiety i would get when i didnt have the opiates to calm me.
there are really good home remidies for back pain online, i discovered that coffee and smoking make it significantly worse, cutting down on those helped for me, and there are other good suggestions, heres a link to that:
i also want to say that my psychiatrist perscribed me Prazosin for my PTSD nightmares. I dont know what your experience is, but for me, having nightmares every time you sleep really effects your daily life, i couldnt even have a five minute nap without waking up in full attack mode. Prazosin is a blood pressure medication used to treat nightmare symptoms for PTSD and it worked like a charm.
BUT---------------- please note 1) the first couple nights it raises your blood pressure making symptoms worse
2) it doesnt take away all nightmares, just the PTSD ones if that makes sense to you. you may still have "bad dreams"

Hello I Read Your Post And I Am In Search Of A Good Dr Who Prescribed For My Father He Has Been On Large Doses Of Morphine And Oxycodone 30 Mg For 15 Years. Just Recently His Pain Center Dropped Him Said He Was Med Seeking But He Wasn't His Surgeon Gave Him A Script Pre Surgery And He Filled It N She Got Mad And Kicked Him Now My Dad Is Freaking Out Please help
I would really appreciate the name of the Dr you mentioned. I have been treated with oxycontin and methadone by the same doctor for over 10 years for chronic back pain. He has relocated to east of the mountains and now request that I see a pain management doctor. I am concerned with all the hoops they make you jump through and starting over. I simply would like to find a doctor that would continue the meds I have always been on please help thank you. I only take exactly as prescribed and never have abused. I simply want to have my meds filled monthly without having to go through pain management, U/A's, excetera. please help thank you
Hi, I am new to seatlle and 58 and honest. I have been on opioids for 6yrs in other states. If you could help me find a doctor it would be appreciated. {edited for privacy}
Ditto. I am post mastectomy/chemo and have a number of ailments needing realistic pain medication prescribed. I'm in East King County but to have only found "interception" type treatment doctors. Please Please Please let me know if you know of a doctor that can help. {edited for privacy}.
ana, if you're still on this string I would really appreciate your help. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September last year and my six months worth of chemo has caused a couple of chronic pain issues for me. My MD is uncomfortable prescribing more than 20 milligrams oxycodone per day. I need 3 times that at least calm the pain that I experienced in my left leg and arms. I can't find anyone in my area, I'm in Monroe, that will prescribe pain medication for chronic pain.
I know a Doctor north of the border who has been doing well in his clinic these past few months. i have met many Americans there. hope this is helpful.
I am a 62 year old female who has both physical and mental trauma starting back to the age of 8 with molestation I have had a knee replaced hip replaced stomach removed diagnosed with major intestinal problems I was being treated with great care from both my psych and primary car doctors In AZ. for years with medications that did truly work I have my health and pharmacy records from AZ that clearly show this was and this is and probably always will be the only true approach and help for me not saying I am unique but I am unique I could keep on but I am sure you get the essence. I do get some psych meds that work and 10 mgs oxycodone a day and I have my medical pot card but hey I need some real help with pain. take care
Try a pain management clinic? But Dr Fonn in Cape Girardae is my nerosurgeon and he has the hands of God! My neck was crushed and I couldn't lift my head for a year and a half! He had me in surgery in a week!! And I have a new titanium neck:)) He saved my life! He only takes people without much $! Good luck! And God bless you and your family!!
Do not take oxycontin for GI disorders..They cause stomach problems.
I was given Prozasin too for PTSD nightmares for a mugging I experienced. I will say that while it eliminated the really bad ones I got ones where I was always in some kind of perpetual motion (like sliding back and forth on ice faster and faster) and I (being a lucid dreamer) was usually used to waking myself up by recognizing things that were wrong in the dream. The WORST nightmare I ever had (and it's not for sure linked with this med which I hope helped a TON of people) where I seemed to be trapped and "waking up" and then falling continuously. It was like being trapped in a nightmare. It's never been directly related I must emphasize, and did get rid of my worst flashbacks which may be what you're looking for, but those dreams were crazy and not being able to get out of them was worse for me. Just use with caution. I'm sure it's helped way more people than gone wrong.
Dear Anna May,
I also had a great Dr in seattle but i can not see him anymore due to financial problems. I am looking for a Dr. who is caring and willing to be open to whatever works for my pain. Not just pushing the new pharmaceuticals because they get insensitive! I have fibromyalgia and spinal arthritis also Rheumatoid Arthritis. Would you be willing to give me the name of your dr. if he/she is indeed all of these needed qualities.
i am 28 and have had 2 open heart surgerys and still have the wires in my chest and will for the rest of my life i also have the wires set in wrong n the 2 heart surgerys was due to the dr messing up the first one could really use help finding a dr im from tacoma wa
I'm looking for a pain management doc near Lynnwood, WA to help keep me up with my current medication and be willing to add to my current dose of pain medication for chronic back pain but I need to get a referral from my current doctor who has recommended that I see a pm clinic because of the years of pain are steadily increasing the number of pills I have to take and he has been really good at the keeping me from the beginning of the worst part of addiction, the wds anyway. If someone helps it could be the best thing to happen today or tomorrow and I'm still not sure what I want to do with the information on this page but I can't even see my current doctor for a few days and I'm going to run out of the the meds I have so anything about the situation in the first half of the ranting about me and my medicine and the rest of the ranting about meds on here is greatly appreciated.
Hi all,
40 y/o female with multiple issues (stomach cancer, permanent nerve damage, neuropathy, anxiety, fibro, and the list goes on). I have been on oxycodone for over 3 years now and currently take 30mg x 3/day. My primary care wants to pass me off to a pain clinic which will be at least several hours from home and no guarantee I'd get my meds anyway. So I'm looking for help in finding a reliable pain clinic that treats patients like humans. I have no problem with compliance, U/A's, following care plan etc. I cannot live anything like my regular life was before hospitalization (missed diagnosis) without pain pills to help calm my pain and CNS. I can't take any antidepressants or NSAIDs. Looking in the WA state South Sound area (Tacoma/Seattle/Olympia/Centralia), as far south as Vancouver, and West to the beach. ANY info, positive OR negative experiences, would be greatly appreciated. I wish you all a pain free day!

Hi Ana May. My name is Zack. I'm 35 and suffer chronic pain from AVN, my left femoral head is collapsed and it hurts all the time. If you could give me the name of that doctor I would be so grateful. I moved to Seattle 2 months ago and need a doctor that understands I can't live with this pain.
Re: marc (# 8)
I'm sure this is very old but it sounds like we had the same doctor. He was compassionate and listened. Now... He's partially retired and in EA WA.

Re: Jenna (# 25)
Hi Jenna, I know this was written a few months back but I am in desperate need as I take care of my 12-year-old shaken baby Survivor so surgery is not an option for me and I moved to Florida, came back and the doctor that I've had for 22 years is holding on 15 mg a day and as this little guy gets bigger it gets harder and I'm not looking to abuse I'm looking just for a little relief. I've been on a pain contract with him for 12 years and never went awry of it at any time but he's not willing to do an increase and I'm still looking for a doctor and it's very hard for me to get out and go to appointments so any help that you have would be kept confidential and I know that you don't know me but all I have is my word. {edited for privacy}. I am who I say I am and honesty is number one on my list. Thank you.
