I need to find a doctor who will prescribe adderall / benzodiazepines to a disabled veteran that struggles most days especially within trying to finish my degree as well as social situations. I'm extremely upset a few bad apples (well tons now) that ruin and scare doctors into prescribing these medications. I refuse to buy them off the street and it has made me quite the hermit and I used to be so outgoing. I shouldn't have to suffer because of these addicts or dealers that ruin this for good people that need this medicine to function and make life easier. Please someone guide me to the right physician and I will greatly appreciate it.

My name is Anthony I'm 26 and have a 18m/o son with another on the way. As a pre teen they had me on adderal my mother had told me and I was getting good grades everything was good for me. But a few years later I just decided not to take them anymore and soon later dropped out of school. Well ever since I've dropped out my life's been an ongoing down hill spiral. I realize now how much of a difference it made to be on the meds. When trying to go back to school to finish it was like a tornado inside my head unable to focus and just so unorganized in life period. Well now that I finally am about to have a home of my own and am doing better in life I'd very much like to see a doctor for adderall again or something similar and go back to school but locating one has been a long and unsuccessful process if anyone could help I'd sure appreciate it. I live in Macomb county Michigan if that helps any and also have insurance. Thanks in advance!

Oakland Psychology Clinic. They have 6-10 locations throughout Metro Detroit. You have to meet with one of their psychiatrists. If they diagnose you with it they refer you to their in-house doctor who then decides the best medication for you. You need to genuinely have ADHD. You cant just walk in and ramble off symptoms and leave with a script. You have to see their psychiatrist at least 1x/month and they work with you to help develop better habits.

They were very welcoming to me and very professional.

Supermom76 - Your best bet is to see a psychiatrist and get a diagnosis + prescription. If you shop around for primary care physicians who will prescribe you the medicine, you're risking being labeled as a drug seeker. That label will ensure you never receive Adderall or any other controlled substance if you ever need it. It's not fair that those of us who genuinely need the medicine to function get treated like drug addicts, but that is how the dea chooses to see us. I really hope you're able to get the pharmacological help you need, though.

I appreciate your help finding a doctor. Moved here to Michigan and finding a doctor is like pulling teeth. I'm a little "off" after 15 years of my medicines. Again, thank you for your help. Have a great night!

Hi I just moved from Florida to Detroit for school. I was originally diagnosed with ADD and prescribed adderall by a psychiatrist. When he retired my general practitioner wrote the prescriptions for me. Any info on a doctor in the Detroit area would be greatly appreciated

I'm also looking for a doc who will prescribe. I was leaving work and was the victim of a distracted driver (I was a pedestrian walking to the lot where my car is) and I've been unable to focus and concentrate since then. Thank you!!!

My Dr prescribed Adderall for me a few years back. His name was Dr. Robert Garcia. As soon as my Blue Cross minimums wouldn’t meet his fee he dropped me like a dirty shirt. I am ADHD and have been since childhood. I just didn’t know it until I was put on Adderall, which made me feel normal for the first time in my life.
