Due to the new regulations that were set forth by the DEA last year, if you require such a medication, you'll need to see a specialist, which in this case would be a psychiatrist. A general practitioner won't prescribe it for you.

The FDA lists Klonopin as being a benzodiazepine that's most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. It carries the risk o being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? If so, that might be the easiest and quickest way to find the help you need.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
