You should never take more than what has been prescribed, doing otherwise puts you at risk of an overdose that could be fatal.
Additionally, there are almost no oral medications that work instantly. They all take time to work, because they must be digested and then processed into your blood stream.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Unless a medication is designated as instant release, it will usually take at least 20 minutes to start working.
