I was told that dillaudid came in 20 mg. pills. I have not ever had a script for them but have had them at the hospital. I thought they never came any stronger than 8 mgs.My friend said she was prescribed 20 mg. dillaudid. I thought that was a very high amount for that medication.

Hello, Nickey! How are you?

There is a controlled release formulation that is available in higher doses, including 24mg and 32mg capsules.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
