They are both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs that are used to treat pain, fever and swelling, so they can be used to treat the same conditions, but they aren't directly interchangeable, because the required dosages would be different.

Your pharmacy also won't arbitrarily switch you from on to another, they both do require prescriptions, so such a change would have to be approved by your doctor.
