Diclofenac 50 Mg

Hi, I am taking diclofenac 50mg once a day (night) for about 3 months. Is it alright if I continue to take it at this dose for another month before I see my specialist again? Will it cause me any harm? If I don't take it daily, it will cause me unbearable pain the whole day. By the way, I'm taking it for my rheumatoid arthritis and I am 32 years old, female with no other medical history.

This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain, fever, and inflammation. The FDA warns that it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation.

Has your specialist told you to keep taking it? It is always best to follow your doctor's instructions.

There is a risk of liver and stomach damage, if it is taken long term.
