Cytotec contains the active ingredient Misoprostol. This medication is used to prevent ulcers induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications.

Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, diarrhea, headache and flatulence.

Misoprostol may also be used to end a pregnancy as an alternative to a D & C procedure. Intake process to be orally and vaginally. This is always done along side monitoring from an OBGYN doctor and is not practiced everywhere.
