Concerta 36

I need to know what the difference is with the two sides on the inside of a Concerta 36? Is it 2 separate drugs that make it what it is because I was told one side was the actual methylphenidate and the other side was a blood pressure drug?

Someone know is addicted to abusing pills or anything else it seems and I told him to not to misuse this pill, because I was also told it could kill a person if it's taken the wrong way.

Can someone help me explain this pill to him so he can read for himself from someone else what's exactly going on because he thinks I'm joking about it and I just don't want him to die for making the wrong decision. Seriously as fast as you can possibly respond would be helpful. Thank you for your time in advance.

Hello, Lee! How are you?

No, there is no blood pressure medication, of any type, in Concerta.

The sole active ingredient in it is Methylphenidate, which is classifies by the FDA as stimulant. It is most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. It carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight loss and insomnia.

However, you are correct that misusing it or abusing could put his life in danger. Since it is a stimulant, it does elevate heart rate and blood pressure, so taking too high of a dosage could elevate them to dangerous levels, which may result in a heart attack or stroke.

Is there anything else I can help with?
