Clonazepam Actavis

I have been taking .5 mg clonazepam made by Actavis for about 7 years. Now all of a sudden my pharmacy could not get it What has happened? Will Actavis no longer be producing it or is it on back order. If it is on back order, what is taking so long? Is there anyone who may still be able to supply it ? Thank you for your help in getting answers to these questions.

Hello Maxine,

I know that when Teva bought out Actavis back in Aug of 2016 that there was a lot of concern with the differences in manufacturing practices and some people were having difficulty getting their brands afterwords. It is possible that the prices have changed and your pharmacy has run out of this particular brand and are now stocking up on a new brand. I cannot find any information online that would indicate that Actavis .5 mg clonazepam (NDC 0228-3003) has stopped being distributed or manufactured.

I would advise you to ask your pharmacy the reason that they do not have this in stock. Sometimes you will find that they simply have switched to a different generic and often they will special order brands for you if the other generic does not work for you. If they are unwilling to stock your brand or accommodate you, it may be in your best interest to call other pharmacies in your area and see if they are willing to do so.

Thank you for your response. I will check back with my pharmacy. They had informed me before that when they tried to order it was Actavis response that it was not currently available with no other explanation. I will continue to pressure them to find the answer for me. They supplied me with sandoz brand and it's ok but I much prefer actavis. Thanks again.

My pharmacy stopped filling Teva with no explanation. I called the Teva manufacturer and they explained that they are stopping production of Teva and are replacing it with Actavis. I'm very nervous because they put me on Accord brand of Klonopin and that is not working at all. It's like a sugar pill.

I'm worried Actavis won't work but the Teva representative stated that soon Actavis Klonopin will be in all CVS' soon and that they sent it out last week.

Please let me know if the Activas works for you. I am a Teva brand clonazepam person too...I tried name brand Roche and it caused a bit of depression...did not work the same. I hope that you have a better report on Activas.

Activis mylann Accord are the only ones left Teva was bought out by first one go to precription service if you can take them Roech is who makes brand name

I was on TEVA for 10 years. I take three tablets of the 1 mg pills. I always got the green pills or then the yellow pills. The yellow pills are made by activis. At least the 1 mg ones are. Six months ago I was switched to a blue pill made by an LLC of Accord / which ended up being Solvo. So in other words the blue ones that have that marking are made by the same company. All the pharmacies around here switch to a cord or Solco. I take these for epilepsy and a vertigo disease called Ménière’s disease. My dosage has been the same for 10 or more years. After they switched me my lab started coming up negative for Klonopin. My doctor thought I wasn’t taking them. I assured him that I was. I had back up blood work and U/A. I usually just get a saliva. My other man’s for showing positive. But not Klonopin. Sure enough I did have a breakthrough seizure. I really wanted to take these to have them tested but the cost is astronomical. My insurance told me that I could get them filled dispense as written or DAR. But that the co-pay would Be $289. I said that’s not a co-pay. I said that’s the price. I said that’s the actual retail price. They said well that’s what we can do for you. So what about mail order. They said well our mail order pharmacy carries accord. So my doctor tried the orally disintegrating or ODT. These were made by PAR pharmaceutical. That is also an LLC of Accord. They did absolutely nothing and I felt like garbage. I could not understand why the past 5 to 6 months I have just not felt right. Now I know. I am back on the yellow ones with a little “R” on them. They seem to be working better. But not as good as the TEVA. My doctor and Pharmacy were both willing to work with me because they know I am tested every other month. They know that I need these medications for both epilepsy and vertigo. Both of which could lead me in the hospital or worse. Any tonic clonic seizure could kill me. The last two that I had it went into cardiac arrest. Thank God my husband was home to do chest compressions.

But I work with a small family on Pharmacy. And I asked to speak with the owners daughter since the owner wasn’t there. And she looked at the list of what was available for her to order and she found the activis. So I’m trying that this month. We will see what happens. But I wish you the best of luck. It is a horrible feeling to not have medication in your system that you need. Especially if you take it for a serious disease or even if you take forvanxiety that is really bad. It can make some anxiety conditions worse. So be careful. Also be willing to have lab testing done with your doctor. Ask him /her if they will do it. It is one of the conditions that I get tested to stay in my medication and I am fine with that. With all the people abusing medications especially benzodiazepines because painkillers Prescriptions are no longer really being written. A lot of people have turned benzos. But I need them to stay alive. I’ve tried every seizure med there is. Only one that is in combination with Klonopin do I have success. So I really wish you the best of luck and let me know how it turns out for you. Be interested to know.

Activas is off the Market according to my insurance company. If you or anyone can find out if, when and where I can get the Activas Clonazapam, that would be much appreciated.

Teva bought Actavis! Actavis is the one that's hard to get.

ok, here's the deal Actavis has discontinued all clonazepam made by Actavis i talked to them yesterday, It seems that when they brought back Teva witch i really don't like it causes my ears to ring very loud, but enough about me, there going to imprint Teva with Actavis/ Teva on the pill as far as i can tell after being on the phone a ling time that the ingredients are in fact different they put something called Povidone K90, and took out Colloidal Silicon Dioxide This may not make any difference to yourself and many others but to me it makes a world of difference, ok good luck to you and all who are at the mercy of big pharma.

Jim, it’s March 10, 2021 & after speaking with TEVA today, the inactive ingredients listed in the .5 mg. TEVA ClonaZepam include Povidone K-90 & a color filler for yellow #10 & Aluminum oxidate. Actavis has a red color #30, no Povidone, & no aluminum oxidate.
Why are we getting different information?
