Clobetasol Propionate Tube Expiration Date

The tube I got from the pharamacy expires in 1 yr. Is 1 yr normal? It is for clobetasol propionate. Can I use it after the yr is up. The prescription tube is for the spray. Is the spray more potent then the ointment as it seems to work quicker but makes me very tired.

I was given a prescription for Clobetasol. The prescription box says not to use it after 1 year. I live in N.J. Is it normal for Clobetasol to expire after one yr? The Clobetasol is advised to be used once in the am and once in the pm. I am getting
terrible bruising in the area of my arm most affected by psoriasis.

Yes, your pharmacy would not give you an inaccurate expiration date.

After a certain period of time, all medications begin to degrade and start to lose efficacy, so once expired, it is best to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new supply, if one is needed.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this one as possibly including skin redness, irritation, flaking and acne.

Yes, please. I was not told about side effects and I have had some; bruising in the application area of the right arm, upset stomach and being very tired. I have used it in the past with none of these side effects. The spray appears more potent. It works but too many side effects. It's the only medication that has worked for me. Could it be the spray is manufactured by a different company. Dr's office is not very cooperative. If I don't have a full body scan they really don't want to work with me.

Why did a dermatologist I went to freak out because I am on clobetesol. He did not say why he was freaking out. I did not know how potent it was until he said so. It really is the only thing that helps. Why does clobetesol spray work better thn the ointment. I guess I should get off of it, right?

My clobetasol propionate expired in June of 2016, but I used these drops to help my hair grow out after I lost a patch due to stress. Should I still use it and will it work?

The insurance co suggested purchasing a cream that can be found in any drug store. I began using vitamin d cream and so far it works. I also take turmeric and it works well.
