suffering crippling pain Says:

Im angry my PM Doc moved 3000 miles away. The dr who bought his practice is not where i want to be! My primary doc says find one u like, i a m behind you on this. whatever that means.
I spent 4months and basically my entire life savings at the Mayo Clinic for 4 months. they've been testing me for cancer for 2 years. I've had 8 surgeries on my abdomen. they don't know why but I've been growing tumors since my last surg tumors everywhere since my last surgery.
when I wake up in the morning my knees are and my ankles are so swollen cant walk. they don't know what to do with me.
so after years of being tested for cancer they just threw me to pain management for solution.
I'm scared.
I meant when I knew pain doctor but I am Not really getting relief. if she does and change my meds for relief, I definitely am going to another doctor.
I've had at least 30 doctors in two years. if I go to three doctors in 3 mos for pain management how is that considered doctor shopping. I'm at the point where I don't give a s*** they're not suffering I am. My doc is gone 3k miles away. I don't feel my finding appropritate pain dr is any different than seeing 5 neurologist rheumatologists etc.

I am very sorry about the problems that you're having and that you're so miserable.

Doctor shopping would usually be seeing several very close together to get or try to get multiple prescriptions for such medications, all at the same time. So, if they're overlapping and you were getting prescriptions from each, which you had filled, while still having a supply of another medication available, it would look suspicious to those scrutinizing such things.

However, if they were spaced out, so neither the visits, nor the prescriptions were really overlapping, then there shouldn't be a problem.

And yes, it is your right to change doctors, if you are to happy.

Have you actually been warned about doctor shopping?
