it s a problem of the immune system, it can or cannot be accompanied by gout, arthiritis, RA,lupus an other problems, i have psoriasis an have gout, an arthiritis, i ve tried nearly every shampoo , an every lotion an salve, nothing will make it go away, solstice or vicks salve gives it the best releif for me but it usually have dead skin scales accumulate till they peel in a thicker layer, i noticed i never had problem with psoriasis at a younger age as i was a coalminer an shampooed my hair with joy dish washing liquid as to get grease out of hair, my daughter is hair dresser an she told me that even if i used joy now i still would have to use conditioner to restore moisture, now when my dead skin peels up an it s raw i use vicks, if it s just itching i use vaseline lotion, hope this helps
