I showed positive for suboxone from kissing my wife. How is this possible?
If you kiss someone and exchange saliva within an hour or so of taking it, and haven’t drank anything to flush residue away...what do you think? It’s a no brainer. You people suggesting it’s a reason to quit your suboxone are seriously irresponsible. It’s easy to avoid if you’re simply mindful enough to wait a reasonable amount of time. I’ve only gotten my gf accidentally-dosed this way once. It was right after I finished dosing. That’s the only time in years because most of the time I know better.

I have an opiate program and my saliva test came out positive for suboxone! My husband takes it so is it possible for me to have a saliva test be positive for suboxone?

I seriously doubt you are having second hand sub withdrawl from unprotected sex. I'm sorry but that is pretty ridiculous. 1st if all, she took an extremely low dose to begin with. 2nd I'm pretty sure you don't spread buprenorphine through vaginal fluids. Doubt you can from sweating either. The other ppl that said about testing positive after kissing their s.o. that could very well be possible cause it is absorbed sublingually. Hope you get this figured out.
Hello, Roger! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having.
And I think that kissing someone that's taking it regular may cause someone to show positive for various medications. I was actually just reading about it a few days ago. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. It is most commonly used to treat drug addiction.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Roger, I think it might be possible, but I also think unlikely. I haven't personally found any documented cases where exchanging bodily fluid with another (in everyday reasonable amounts) would cause a medication to show up in a standard screening. Are you taking any other medications or vitamins at this time (prescription / over the counter / natural supplements)? I would think it could be more likely something along those lines, but of course there could be a chance based on what verwon said as well. Also, do you and your wife share certain hygienic products like a tooth brush, razor, or anything else?

Hi I'm looking for answers. I've been dating someone for 6 months a and we have had some issues. Come to find out we're almost 100% positive he's getting suboxone from kissing me or being intimate? It's really bad, we can't even kiss. This s*** is potent. I've been on it for 5 years and am now in the process of quitting because kissing my love is so much more important. Thank you for sharing.
I have not been tested for Suboxone in my system - but I am chronically getting nauseous and vomiting after spending time with my boyfriend who is in a Suboxone treatment program. It wasn’t always the case that I would get sick. And it doesn’t happen all the time, but lately it has been 75% of the time I get sick. I get dizzy, light headed, nauseous and then I vomit until I finally recover 12-24 hours later. I don’t know what it could be. Food poisoning from his place? His dog? Mold in his place? Who knows. 6 times this has happened. We do love kissing a lot. He’s really sensitive when I try to use process of elimination to get to the bottom of what is making an otherwise healthy person deal with this. He doesn’t get sick. It’s terrible, and I feel that it’s weakening me over time.
Same here 4 times very small traces in my urine Dr said no worry it’s possible

My boyfriend has the same problem. If he kissed me with in an hour or so of me taking 8mg strip. He would be vomiting, dizzy, extremely tired. It made him very ill, and like you said 12-24 hours he would be ok. I had an idea that it could have been the bupe.
I take Suboxone & I’m in a Ltr. I have intercourse once a month with my girlfriend and she constantly gets a b.v. Could it be the Suboxone? Please help.
I am prescribed the films. I take two 8mg films a day. My husband and I are usually aware and do not kiss after I've taken it, but we forgot and didn't think about it. Now he has tested positive for the Suboxone in his system. Is this even possible???
Re: Nick (# 4)
I don't know what bv is but my wife stayed incapacitated 16 hours after kissing me. This stuff is no joke and that was after brushing really good. It's to the point I'm quitting cuz I'm not going to put my wife thru the pain of thinking I don't want to kiss her.
Re: Nick (# 4)
My ex threw me out 4 months ago. She took probably 1mg a day maybe 2? whenever she tore open a foil envelope I could smell and taste it. We had unprotected intercourse every night. Now I am experiencing Insomnia and I think it may be connected to Second Hand Suboxone withdrawl. Now im very sad that I ever that witch.
