Hello I recently broke my ankle and the doctors prescribed me hydrocodone to take away the pain because the naproxen wasnt working. The hydrocodone only lasts 6 hours am i able to take naproxen or ibprofen after the 6 hours to help with the pain so i dont have to take another vicodin?

Princessjeffy06, as long as you don't have any problems taking Naproxen, you can take it when you take the Hydrocodone or when the Hydrocodone wears off. Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and helps reduce inflammation. Hydrocodone is an opiate and helps relieve pain. It is common for drs to prescribe them together.
