Can I Take Ibuprofen With Acetaminophen Hydrocodone

My husband got his finger cut off yesterday and the doctor gave him 7.5 hydrocoden. And its been hour and half and he is in pain. I was wondering if advil woukd be ok to give him to help him out. The bottle says he can take two but he dont want to take 2 he took one. Thank you

Sorry to hear about your husband's mishap. I can't imagine how excruciating that must've been or how it may be affecting him psychologically... Though it sounds like he's in good hands with you looking after his treatment regimen. I just wanted to add that taking ibuprofen with hydrocodone/apap is generally regarded as safe. They actually make a hydrocodone/ibuprofen drug combination by the name of Vicoprofen. And as far as my personal experience goes, I've never had any issues taking ibuprofen with acetaminophen (tylenol) in the past. Have you also discussed this with your prescribing doctor?
