Hi Connie,

If you haven't done so already, I would definitely encourage you to get in touch with a veterinarian when it comes to powerful antibiotics of the likes of Bactrim. Hopefully you can take your dog to go see one in person to determine if it is in fact an abscess or not. I've just seen so many negative reports here pertaining to side effects associated with Bactrim in particular that I'm very partial to the idea of it being given to an animal. This isn't to suggest that it's not a viable treatment option as I have come across medical literature depicting it's indications for cats and dogs, but to be on the safe side with dosing and administration I think getting a professional licensed opinion is the least one can do.

Has your dog been making any concerning sounds when she bites down on her toys?
