I take synthroid and,belviq in the morning at same time I take linzess.?

Hi Judy,

Upon looking up potential drug interactions, I did find an article noting how Linzess (Linaclotide) has been known to cause diarrhea, which in-turn may affect the absorption of other medications that are taken orally, such as Synthroid (Levothyroxine)... essentially not allowing it to work as well as it should. So if you do decide to take them together, I think it would be equally important to watch for signs/symptoms of decreased thyroid function as a result of this interaction.

Have you been taking the Linzess long enough to know how it affects you (i.e. regarding diarrhea)?

The Linzess does cause some diarrhea ,if I take the synthroid and belviq 2hours later
(after the linzess ) would that be long enough for the synthroid and belviq to be better absorbed ?

I haven't found any specific details on the half-life of lizness (linaclotide); however, information I am seeing from drug monographs state that it is quote on quote "very short". So I doubt it would be working in your body for several hours on end in that regard. But without having an actual figure to estimate, I can't honestly say whether or not 2 hours is enough time in between doses for it not to have an affect on the absorption of synthroid and/or belviq.

With that said, you may have to discuss this further with your doctor for a second opinion on when those other two meds should be taken in conjunction with lizness. I wish I could be of more help! But if anyone else here happens to come across reputable information on the half-life of lizness please do post back!
